What Are YOU Doing To Move Today???

Good Morning Folks......

What a beautiful day!  Sun is shining, birds are singing, and we are alive.

Hope everyone faired well from the weekend.  It was tough coming to work this morning, that's for sure!!!!  I wanted to stay in bed a while longer.  Oh well.....time to get the body moving and grooving!

Exercise is such an important part of this journey.  You cannot maintain your weight on diet alone, and plus, exercise provides so many physical and mental benefits.  Our bodies were made to move.  So, it's important to find something that you enjoy and to do it.  Your body may not like you walking, that's ok...find something that you can do.  Swimming is a great form of exercise for someone with physical limitations, and you can do it year round.

If you are looking to exercise on the cheap, ther are many ways that you can do that, too.  The local libraries have exercise dvds that you can check out for free.  Soup cans make the perfect set of weights when starting out.  Music on the radio is free - turn it up and start dancing.  Walking outdoors is also great.

Memberships at the local YMCA are inexpensive and the "Y" has lots to offer.

So...what are YOU doing to move today?

Me?  Let's see...calendar says Bodypump toning class and 45 minutes on the stair climber, BUT...hubby is leaving today, which means I have to run home to be with Dakota, so I'll do 30 minutes of weight work and 45 minutes of Turbo Jam or a 45 minute run on the treadmill.  Not sure yet.

Until tomorrow...enjoy today!

I think the Sick Fairy is planting her rear end in my garden. :( But, Life must go on and I have things I HAVE to get done. I WILL do them. I've made my bed, cleaned up some and am making every effort to accomplish some TO DO List items. Prayers would be good here. I AM getting outside today that's for sure.

Ok...keep her there (haha).

Hope you get to feeling better!  A quick walk in the fresh air may be just what the doc ordered.  Studies show that people who exercise have less colds.

You are going to do just fine.  You embraced fitness as an extension of yourself.  So, I KNOW you are committed.  Plus...it's good for your pregnancy.

Have you tried yoga?  You might like it - not intense, but strengthing and relaxing.  Perfect for pregnancy (so I'm told).

I have not tried yoga, but have thought about it.  Honestly, it scares me a little.  I have seen some of the positions and knowing my knee and hip from my car accident I am afraid I can't do it or that I would hurt too much.  Maybe I will try ONE class and see how it goes!  Thanks for the suggesstion.

Checkout yoga for pregnancy dvd.  There will be a lot of moves on it that will not only help prepare you for birth, but will be easier.  Plus, if you check it out from the library, you can see if you like it before paying to take a class.

But, yoga is great for flexibility and strength.  Some of the move will be odd, but some of them will give you such balance.  I'm trying to incorporate more into my weekly fitness schedule, simply because of the flexibility and grounding it provides.
