I had the choice of going with either Dr's Tran and Halmi of Woodbridge or Dr. Stelmack of 'burg. I chose Dr's Tran and Halmi. I found when I researched the experience in Lap-band surgery as well as the hospitals and the Bariatric Centers of Excellence, again Tran and Halmi came out way ahead. I had in the past tried to contact Dr. Stelmack's office about finding a local support group and I found the staff to be uniformed and not very co-operative and rather disorganized. Dr. Stelmack's office has recently had some personnel changes and maybe the situation has improved, I hope so. Also in the past some people here on OH have posted that they didn't receive very professional or compassionate care at MWH in the Bariatric unit after their WLS and some I recall said they wouldn't go there again even if they were dying. My care at Potomac Hospital was outstanding. Hope this helps.
