had barium swallow
Well I had my barium swallow this morning. The good news is there is no fistula but the bad news is that there is no answer to why I have so much heartburn. I call my MD today to see if he still wanted the EGD and I haven't heard back. Really the only results I got from the barium swallow was that I do empty extremely fast. Thanks to all of you for your concern.
Glad it is over and still praying for you. Hopefully they will find a cause soon!

Hope they find out what is causing your acid really soon - it may well be the types of foods you are eating..... and may have to modify even those - emptying fast is not a good thing either because that means you will get hungrier quicker....
Hang in there - if that doesn't work an EGD should show more results...

Hope your docs can find out what is causing the heart burn and alleviate it. Agreed with Jackie here about quite possibly changing up some foods you are eating to see if that helps calm things.
