Home and sleeved
30th Got to Fair Oaks Hospital at 530 am. Nurse met me with a huge smile. Everyone on was great. Weighed me in... lost a total of 42 lbs pre op.
Everyone was aware of a previous bad anesisist experience at Potomac Hospital or lack of.
Anestisist , his assistant & Dr Moazzez met with me. Answered my questions & put my mind at ease. Came out of surgery with no issues. In fact told my husband it was hard to believe I was intebated.
Came home late Wed 1st. Sore and tired but each day gets better. ...Not hungry and just not interested in any food. I am trying to get liquid protien in and water. Cranberry lite burns going down.. NUT suggested watering it down. Taking it slow and small sips.. How to get all that fluid in... Just keep trying. This morning was my best intake so far. Every day a bit more progress.
Sleep - no heavy sleeping.. cannot get comfortable.. experiencing back and neck discomfort.
Warm shower has helped. Cannot sleep on my side yet..
I have no regrets in selecting Dr Mo and Fair Oaks Hospital for my surgery. The staff is the best in No VA ... Special thanks to the NUT Staff for getting me on the right track for a healthy future.
Last but not least .... Thanks to my OH friends. I have listened carefully to all of your experiences. I hope that I can give back the wonderful gift you have given me..
Welcome home and glad things went well! Look forward to hearing about your experiences and wow moments! Congrats on the 42 pounds lost preop! That is awesome!

Glad you are home and feeling pretty good. This will be a really interesting ride so try to enjoy every minute of it !
I had my RNY at Potomac Hospital but all my plastic surgeries in Fair Oaks and I liked Fair Oaks the best - it is like a hotel lol!!
I never tried to sleep in bed until about 10 fdays after i was home - I slept in a recliner half sitting up and it was so much comfier.... then I gradually moved back to my bed..... it helps a lot...
We are looking forward to hearing all your WOWS on this journey...!!!

Glad you are home and doing well!!! I don't know how I missed your post earlier.
I agree with Jackie, I was sleeping in an oversized chair with my feet on an ottoman for the first week. Then I got a body pillow to prop myself up on when I switched to the bed. I am a month out and just got rid of the body pillow a few days ago. Sleeping on your side will eventually happen again.
That first few days home it was all I could do to get my protein and water in, so just keep sipping away and don't worry about getting extra stuff in if you don't feel like it. It took a couple of weeks before I actually felt hunger again. If you get tired of water, try some Crystal Light. The have a lemonade with extra hydration that I find is very helpful and sometimes CL goes down easier then water, at least for me.
Don't forget to walk too. That might help stretch out your back and help with some of the pain. I found that most of the time the pain or discomfort I was feeling had to do with sitting in the same position for so long. Let's face it, once you find a comfy position you don't want to move.
Keep it up you are doing AWESOME!!!!!
