I love your photos. Thanks for sharing them with us. I cannot wait to show them to my son--a native Peruvian.
I stayed in Miraflores on my first trip to Peru. We stayed at a hostel called Hostel Ballon. Wonderful hosts with ****tails every night. I noticed in one pic your wife looked to be enjoying a Pisco Sour! Those where great but would be loaded with too much sugar for me now!

Yeah Jen--
I didn't dare try a pisco. I knew I'd be under the table.
I was amazed at how "us" friendly it was there. I stayed at the Doubletree and in the gym next to it they sold protein shakes. At the supermarket in the quarter they had all my joys of life, including a form of Crystal Light. I was also blown away at how close Peruvian food is what we eat. I ordered from a the fixed price menu at a small restaurant (the price? 6 sol--approx. $2US). What I got was a salad that had fresh cukes, tomatoes, and guacamole, a lean, skinless, grilled chicken breast. and rice (which I know some people struggle with but I need for how much I work out). It was perfect.
I also took the most amazing run of my life through Miraflors and along the Pacific coast. It really make me happy to be who I am now. I never could done all of this in my old body.
