Today is....
my 5 month post op! Can you believe it? It has been 5 months since I had my laproscopic RNY! So much has changed. More than I EVER thought could or would. It has had it's definite ups and downs but I wouldn't change things for anything in the world!
I started this weighing 318 lbs. Today, I weigh in at 200. I have lost 118 lbs and more inches than I could tell you about. I am down 3 sizes but more important... I was on 1000 units of insulin daily and took 17 pills a day for various heart and COPD issues. Now, I am only on 2 pills a day and nothing for my diabetes. But my sugars run perfect coming from an A1-C of 10.7 in March to 7.3 in July. And if my A1-C is below 7 next month then my endocrinologist will declare my diabetes in remission. While I'm still having issues with my heart, it is definitely not something I'd be wanting to deal with with that extra 118 lbs back on. I do not do everything by the book. I am not perfect and I faulter but I do make sure that when I make a mistake, I try to make sure that it is corrected. Each day is a learning experience and every day is trial and error.
So with that... I am just so happy with the way things are going. I am more confident, more social and definitely happier than I have been in a LONG time. This surgery not only changed my life physically, but it was the best thing I have done mentally and emotionally. I just wanted to share with everyone especially the pre ops and the newer post ops. Hopefully they will see the great things that this surgery brings about.

Congratulations, my dear! You did it! It seems just yesterday I came to see you in the hospital and now look at you! Just keep on keepin' on and you will be at goal before you know it! I know Dr B is so proud of you. We have to try and get together one of these days...thankfully, the kids will be less busy come November and I will have lots more time.
Hey Dawn! Thank you so much for everything, especially coming to see me, even though I was in ICU and not at my best. I am so excited to see that I have lost 2/3 of the weight that I wanted to lose. Things are going so good! We definitely have to try to get together. You just let me know when you are free! Hugs to you!!! And thanks so much doll!
Congrats on your success thus far.
