I need help and coming out of lurkdom!  I am 3 months out, and just started dumping, over anything!  I don't have the heart rate, sweating, etc.... but I have terrible diahrrea.  It has been going on for about 6 days now.  I can tolerate my protein shakes, but that is about it.  Any advice?

Sorry you are having these issues all of a sudden.  I would recommend first of all seeking the advice of your surgeon/dietician.  Then I would suggest going back to the basics.  Whenever I have had issues with foods/drinks I start all over and slowly reintroduce things into my diet to eliminate what I am having issues with.

Hi as Tammy stated first and foremost call your surgeon's office to discuss what's going on with you. Be as detailed as possible. It could be many things. That you can tolerate your protein shakes is a good thing however, that you have diarrhea means you are not keeping any fluids in. I would sincerely suggest you call right away. Keep us posted.

Definitely call your surgeon's office and either speak with a dr or a nutritionist.  let us know what they say.  I'll keep you in my prayers, and sending you tons of ++++++ thoughts, lys

As the others have said, the first thing you should do is contact your surgeon's office, tell them in detail what is going on and let them guide you as to what you should do next.  Let us know how you're doing!

I am going to sound like a broken record but you need to speak with your doctor as soon as possible so you do not get dehydration issues...... you don't need that to add to your problems......

Keep us posted on how you are doing - don't be a lurker :-)

I agree with the others.  Also want to ask, do you still have your gallbladder.  Diahrrea can be a sign of a dysfunctioning gall bladder.  Keep us updated & hope you are feeling better soon.  Definitely keep up with thoses shakes & extra water.

I just wanted to send out an update....

I called my doc and described my symptoms.  Since I was getting my shakes, soup, and fluid in, he didn't seem overly concerned.  I think I had a viral thing, because I woke up this morning feeling much better, and no diahrrea today!!  Thanks for the support.  I appreciate it.  I have to do a better job of posting and not lurking!
