Good morning, for those who have had GB issues.  I feel pain, nausea, not hungry at all.  I'm going into the drs at 11am today.  Can't get in to see my surgeon til at least thursday.  Honestly, i know that gall bladder surgery is a snap compared to RNY, but i'm totally petrified of going back into the hospital.  +++ thoughts would be appreciated.  lys

I had my gallbladder removed years ago prior to my recent RNY.  It was done as outpatient surgery and I only missed one week of work.  I didn't have any problems, just you're normal pain from surgery.

My gall bladder went bad after my RNY.  At first i took the symptoms for possible dumping.  Ended up having severe pain in the middle of my abdomen, especially after eating dairy products.  Had it removed laproscopically, not much pain at all.  I do recommend that you ask for an ultrasound, do not rely on the blood test.

Hi Lys,

I had issues with mine when I was preggers with Kayla. It subsided after her birth but then flared up during my pre-op process and it was removed during my Lap RNY WLS. I certainly hope you get some relief soon. :)

I had mine taken out like back in '04 or '05.  I was not symptomatic. My mom had hers removed to flare ups and wanted me to get checked out. Sure enough, there were hudge stones and I was recomended for surgery.  That is how I meet the wonderful Dr Halmi.  The procedure is not that bad and recover is quick.  I agree with Kat, get a U/S.

Lys,

I had mine taken out with my RNY.  My surgeon does this to avoid another possible surgery later.  Wanted to wish you all the best and hope you do not have to have it removed.

Thanks for the responses ladies.  I saw my GP today, had some b/w and will get an ultrasound tomorrow at 3pm.  Hopefully, after that i'll have some answers.  Keep those ++++ thoughts coming.  lys
