You'll be able to take a shower pretty soon after the surgery and it'll make you feel a million times better. Bring whatever hair products (shampoo, conditioner, hair goop, comb) you need...Fair Oaks really doesn't have anything. They gave me this shampoo that didn't need to be washed out, it killed my super dry curly hair.
iPod, book...whatever you want to keep you occupied. I was dozing a lot so I never actually got to pick up the book I brought.
Also a sleep mask if you can find one, it'll help block the light from the very large windows.
All that and a toothbrush and a change of loose clothes and you should be good to go.
You probably knew all this, but I thought I'd chime in.
Good luck!

Not much! I wore home what I wore in but remember there will be some swelling so make sure it is lose fitting. Chapstick and bathroom essentials and slippers. You will not need too much!

Life could not get any better than this!
THANKS!!!! The shampoo and such is a great idea, that had not even occured to me, but I will definitely bring some with me. The information about the hospital said they had a service you could purchase that will give you internet access and stuff like that, has anyone tried that? Was it worth it?
You all have been awesome and this board has really helped me get through this. Today hasn't been as bad as I thought. I am making wedding invitations for a friend so it has really kept my mind off not being able to eat anything. Just trying to avoid going into the kitchen.
Thanks again!
