Wanted to wish you good luck tom. and  hurry home for a speedy recovery. Take some comfy loose clothes to come home in  chapstick, I wore in what I was wearing out so I didnt have to carrying a bunch of stuff maybe an extra favorite pillow they have the slipper socks your toothbrush and toothpaste but I think they had that too, a brush a book if you like ready a robe but I used a second hospital gown. Im sure others will come up w/ more but the less you take you dont have to worry about A must though your CELL PHONE. lol good luck and  we will be moving over on the loosers bench.

You'll be able to take a shower pretty soon after the surgery and it'll make you feel a million times better. Bring whatever hair products (shampoo, conditioner, hair goop, comb) you need...Fair Oaks really doesn't have anything. They gave me this shampoo that didn't need to be washed out, it killed my super dry curly hair.
iPod, book...whatever you want to keep you occupied. I was dozing a lot so I never actually got to pick up the book I brought.
Also a sleep mask if you can find one, it'll help block the light from the very large windows.
All that and a toothbrush and a change of loose clothes and you should be good to go.
You probably knew all this, but I thought I'd chime in.
Good luck!

Not much!  I wore home what I wore in but remember there will be some swelling so make sure it is lose fitting.  Chapstick and bathroom essentials and slippers.  You will not need too much!

THANKS!!!!  The shampoo and such is a great idea, that had not even occured to me, but I will definitely bring some with me.  The information about the hospital said they had a service you could purchase that will give you internet access and stuff like that, has anyone tried that?  Was it worth it?

You all have been awesome and this board has really helped me get through this.  Today hasn't been as bad as I thought.  I am making wedding invitations for a friend so it has really kept my mind off not being able to eat anything.  Just trying to avoid going into the kitchen.

Thanks again!

I didn't buy the package and honestly I didn't miss it at all. And I like to be super wired all the time, so that's saying a lot! Like the board said, you'll be sleeping a lot, which is why I didn't miss it at all.

Good luck tomorrow Amanda!  They take really good care of you at Fair Oaks, so you'll do just great!  I took lots of stuff to occupy my time while I was in, but I spent so much time sleeping, I didn't get to any of it - don't be surprised if you sleep almost the entire time you're there ;)
