I would stab myself in the eye for a Diet Coke
I know its hard. I used to have one on my desk at all times too. But YOU CAN DO IT!!!!! Just think about how terrible you will feel if you drink it. It will make your stomach hurt as it expands your pouch and the caffeine will make you all jumpy and irritable since you haven't had one in awhile. Am I making it sound bad enough?!?!?!?!?!
Go get some more water or make some CL. This will pass.

I was easily a six pack Diet Coke person a day since Diet Coke came out. I quit cold turkey and didn't have a single one from September 2007 until about December 2007... then stres**** and I just had to have one.... so I went and got a nice, ice cold Diet Coke from the machine at work and had a sip... and it SUCKED. It was the worst thing I'd ever tasted. I had one more taste just to make sure it wasn't just something strange the first time, but I haven't touched a Diet Coke since December 2007 or even wanted one... I now stick mostly to flavored water and skim milk with protein in it, but no longer miss Diet Coke, which I never thought would happen.

Ha! Your topic cracked me up - I feel the same way. And I gave them up waaay back in March. Giving up my Cokes has been super -hard for me as well, so I feel your pain. My mom gets a fountain Coke at least twice a day so when I'm with her it's especially killer
(by the way, I say Coke for all soda - she and I both drink Diet -or I drAnk it - but any soda that we get, especially a fountain one, we just refer to as "getting a Coke")

lol! I used to be a Diet Dew drinker before surgery. I thought I would never be able to give them up but I did - I have now not had any kind of carbonated soda since Feb 2006, and to be honest, once I got passed the habit part I do not miss it at all....
Hang on in there - this too shall pass - but giving in now would be a downward spiral.... you can do this!!

Let me share my experience. I've never been a huge soda drinker and actually quit for a year before I had my surgery to help my sleeping problems. I haven't had a drop since I had surgery over 2 years ago and I had to drink some Magnesia Citrate and it hurt worse than the problem that got me there! The doctors will never have to worry about me drinking soda again. The bubbling left me with a weird sensation and it felt just awful. I know its its a head thing and I hope it passes for you soon!
Good luck,
