I did it!!!
Next Saturday will be my 4 month post op. Many things have changed in that short period of time, both physically and mentally. I am down 103 lbs since my final pre op appointment @ the end of March & 82 lbs since my surgery. Wow! To even be able to say that is still absolutely amazing. I am in awe that I have gotten down that much and that the lbs are still coming off.
So with the weight loss and physical changes going on, there are also emotional and mental changes happening too. A new Theresa is emerging. A more self confident, happier, complete Theresa is unfolding, right before my eyes. At my heaviest, 318 lbs in March, I had been on disability for a couple of years, suffering from Diabetes and Congestive Heart Failure but things are so much better now. So I realized it was time for a change. I am suffering from Cabin Fever and so desperately need a change. I have always been interested in cosmetology for as long as I can remember. I remember on my 8th birthday, standing behind my grandfather, while he was on a hospital gurny having just been admitted into the hospital for having a heart attack, while I was pretending to give him a high & tight hair cut. It has always been a huge interest so.... I took the next step. I am now enrolled in cosmetology school. I begin September 15, and it will take 10 months to complete and then I will take my state boards.
I am so excited about this new chapter of my life and so anxious to see where my life will go next. This is proof that this surgery is definitely a new beginning for so many people's lives. I just wanted to share my joys of a couple things. Thanks for listening!
