Got my staples out today

Boy was I scared to go and get those staples out!  I thought it would really hurt, but much to my relief it didn't bother me at all -

I've lost 12 lbs since my surgery on the 13th, so I'm feeling pretty positive about things right now.

I just realized that we have our "own" Virginia board, and everyone here seems so positive and supportive, I wanted to come join in!

(I'm in Manassas, I just can't figure how to get that to show up)

I am learning too.    Check out your user settings...   I am in Woodbridge.  Next week I start my
dietatian meetings & talk about my sleep study with the Dr.     Scheduled for 9/30/2008 sleeve.

Comments on the local message board have been very helpful.

Good Luck !!  Keep up the good work

Hey there! Congratulations on the weight loss. That is awesome progress. I can relate with the staples. I had 45 under my right breast when I had lung removal surgery and was horrified all the way to the dr office. But it really wasn't nothing to have worried about. But thank god with my RNY, my dr didn't use staples. He used a glue, derma-bond. I thought that was so much more easier.

Welcome to our board. I hope you enjoy it and find everyone as helpful and friendly as most of us do. Good luck!

Welcome to the Va Board -- you are right, great group of people.  Glad things went well with the staples, and congrats on the weight loss!  Manassas, huh?  My parents and sisters live there -- small world.  :)

Hey there! Welcome to the VA Board!

I did not have staples as my surgeon uses a mixture of internal stitches and glue - so my scar is much smaller too.......

That is a great weight loss so far - you are doing so well!! Congratulations! Bet you are thrilled!

We are all here if you want to ask anything,  so feel free!

Congratulations on the weight loss so far!

I found that having the staples out was actually a relief... standing and walking around, while my skin was pulling at them, was very painful. After they came out I was ready to tackle the world.

Good luck with everything!
