Weekly Fitness Tip
Sleep Benefits. Did you know that sleep duration and patterns can actually affect how you workout, or even if you gain/lose weight? Recent studies show that those who do not get adequate amount of sleep can actually gain weight as a way of the body reacting to its lack of sleep. Most people need 7 or 8 hours of sleep a day, and your body functions at its best when you have regular sleep patterns, generally sleeping at about the same time every night. So if your workouts, or weightloss isn’t going well, consider whether or not you are getting enough sleep. ______________________________________________________________________________ Talk with your doctor before beginning any exercise program. Do not exercise if you have any physical problems that might influence your ability to become more active. Stop exercising and call your doctor if you feel dizzy, nauseated, short of breath, or if you feel pain in your chest. If you are more than 40 pounds overweight, you should not work out at a high intensity level without professional supervision.
