Hey guys!  I was wondering if anyone has used Dr Woulgmuth or Dr Fontana from this group, how long it took, and what they thought of this group.  I go to meet with Dr W the 29th, I am really ready to just do this, my husband leaves for cruise and I want to get started ya know!  :) I am not impressed with their 500 "program fee" but I will pay whatever I have to, just wondered if there is anyone else that is familuar with these folks.  THANKS!!

Not that they arent wonderful surgeons, but the program fee turned me off as well as a previous experience I had with them.  NSG seems to have a good success rate, I however chose to use a different surgeon.  If you go on yahoo there is a group that is for people who have used them. I can find the link later....

I just attended an information session with Dr.Fontana Monday evening. I think the difference with NSG and Dr. Yancy (besides Dr.  Yancy not doing the band) is that NSG has good pre-op as well as post-op care with the availability of the nutritionist, exercise physiologist, etc. I also think I heard that Dr. Yancy is still only performing the open RNYand not the laparoscopic RNY. NSG has more of a team approach. The program fee does seem like an extra money-maker, but I sometimes you get what you pay for

I had my surgery with NSG (Dr Snyder) a bit over 2 years ago.  That group is GREAT!  The support is excellent!  You get tons of help, support, classes, etc for the program fee.  Think about it...how much have you spent for diets that have failed?  The program fee doesn't even cost as much as 1 year at weigh****chers.  Dr Wolgemuth and Fontana have both spoken at support group meetings and I had one of my follow up appts with Dr W.  They are both great people and very skilled surgeons.  I checked into Dr Yancy and my understanding is that he only does open RNY.  The recovery time is much longer for any open surgery.  2 years out I am still receiving support from NSG.  I would HIGHLY recommend them.  Feel free to PM me with any questions.
