Inova Fair Oaks Hospital is sponsoring it’s 3rd Annual ASMBS "Walk from Obesity" at Fair Oaks Mall in Fairfax. This local Pick Your Own K" event is part of a national program to raise awareness of the life-threatening disease of Obesity.  Obesity related illness accounts for nearly 400,000 deaths a year. Proceeds benefit the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery for Education, Research & Prevention.  Registration is $25.00. Register online at www.walkfromobesity.com (choose Fairfax location) or onsite at 7:00 am. Enter the Mall through the doors between Lord & Taylor and Sears. The Walk starts at 8:00 am.  Great Door Prizes and Samples.  Questions - call 703-391-3783 

I usually would do it but I am in Boston at that time - however i would encourge people to do this walk - it is not a lot of effort and so many people benefit from it - not to mention the satisfaction you get from actually being a part of it.

Earlier this year, I did the ASMBS Mall Walk from Obesity in DC and the atmosphere was superb!

It feels good to give back! So if you are in the area please please support these activities! If not try to find a walk near you and participate......

Jackie is right -- if you can't make the Fairfax one, PLEASE PARTICIPATE IN ONE SOMEWHERE!  The ASMBS supports us so we need to support them.
