I HATE TO SOUND DUMB BUT.......
It is my understanding that they do not dissolve. If they did , we would all be walking around with staple line dissruptions, Not good .. LOL
They are pretty much there to keep it all closed up .
I would not worry about them though. I am glad mine are still hanging in there after 4 years !

No`they do not dissolve nor would we want them to.....occasionally they come lose but it is very occasional and not the norm - my surgeon does three lines of staples so even if one came lose the rest would not so it is impossible for me to get a staple line disruption....thank goodness.... but some surgeons only do a single line - you would need to see which one your surgeon does.

My aunt had RNY over 20 years ago and her staples came loose. She had a revision and is all fixed now. Back then they only did one line of staples. You really do want them to stay in place!

I KNOW I TOLD YOU GUYS I KNEW IT WAS A DUMB QUESTION BUT I HAD TO ASK.....I MEAN I KNOW THAT ITS A HEAVY METAL N ALL..BUT I DIDNT NOW IF IT WAS SOME KIND THAT DISSOLVE OVER TIME OR WHAT...SO THAT WILL BE WHATS HOLDING US TOGETHER FOR ETERNITY..THE STOMACH DOESNT HEAL AND CLOSE ON ITS OWN EVENTUALLY? JUST CURIOUS? I KNOW THAT THE STAPLES WILL STILL BE THERE..JUST ASKING THOUGH...
