PNH*DR MANN

I WANT DR MANN AS MY DR..BECAUSE HE'S KNOW FOR DOING THE VSG AT PNH....I WAS APPOINTED DR MCFEE AS MY DR..I'VE MET WITH HIM ONCE...WHILE HE WAS VERY HANDSOME AND A SWEETIE PIE...HE KEPT TRYNA TALK ME OUT OF THE VSG AND LET IT BE KNOWN THAT HE DOES THEM BUT NOT ALOT AND THAT I WOULD HAVE TO CONVINCE HIM TO DO A VSG ON ME  HE WANTED TO MAKE SURE I WAS AWARE THAT THERE'S NO STATS ON THE VSG 10-15 YRS OUT LIKE THE RNY..AND SIMPLY PUT HE PREFERS DOING THE RNY...I DONT WANT THAT NOR DO I WANT TO WAKE UP HAVING GOTTEN THE RNY BECAUSE HE FELT IT WAS BEST TO DO WHAT HE/DR THOUGHT WAS BEST...I WOULD BE VERY PISSED IF I WOKE UP WITH RNY WLS...NO OFFENSE I JUST DON'T THINK THAT IS THE SURGERY BEST SUITED FOR ME..AND DAMMIT DON'T WE HAVE A CHOICE ABOUT WHAT WLS AND DR WE WANT.....THE LAST OF MY APPTS:NUT AND PSYC APPT ARE COMING UP IN A FEW WEEKS..THEN I GET PUT ON THE PRE-OP LIST..I HEAR FROM THERE IT'S USUALLY A MONTH UNTIL SURGERY DAY...SO .I NEED TO MAKE MOVES QUICK..I LEFT A MESSAGE WITH MS BOONE TO ASK HER ABOUT THIS AND SHE HAS YET TO CALL ME BACK AND THAT WAS THURSDAY...HAS ANYONE REQUESTD A DIFFERENT DR AT PNH? PLEASE ENLIGHTEN ME ON YOUR EXPERIENCE IF SO....

can i ask why you think the rny is not for you first off.  Oh and good luck getting a call back from mrs. Boone SHe never returns my calls and i already had the surgery  I callled two weeks ago about not eating and still am not eating and she never has sreturned my call still till this day.  Dont know of the doctor you are talking about have not met him i had chast and mann they were awsome doctors.  He  must be a new doctor there.  I had my wls almost 8 weeks ago.  What is you BMi that is how they determine what is best for you.  These doctors have done enough surgerys and i am sure they would not do something on you that does not need to be done.  If they think the vsg is not going to work for you then i would listen to them.  The crew at portsmouth is awsome.    I would put in the rquest or ask for a consultation with chastney hes the head doctor up there or put in a call for him to call you on this he will listen and give you his honest opion.  Good luck hope it all works out

I AM DEATHLY AFRAID OF RNY..DONT WANT THE POSSIBLE MALABSORPTIONS ISSUES ..BEING VITMN DEPRVED..I AM SEVERLY ANEMIC (DUE TO RECENT BLEEDING FOR 7WEEKS STR8) I AM WORKING ON GETING MY BLOOD COUNT UP..I KNOW THEY DONT LIKE TO OR EITHER WONT DO SURGERY IF MY COUNT IS LOW AND THE VSG IS SAFE FOR ANEMICS..MY BMI IS 37.. THIS IS STRANGE BECAUSE I HAVE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH MS BOONE CALLING ME BAC****IL NOW...ITS ONLY BEEN A COUPLA DAYS..I DID CALL HER THIS MORNING SO I'LL WAIT THEN I WILL LEAVE A NICE BUT NASTY MESSAGE IF NEED BE... YES HE IS A NEW DR THERE..AND I AGREE THE CREW IS GREAT..BUT YOU HAVE TO UNDERSTAND..FIRST OFF I MET DR C AND THATS WHO I THOUGH WOULD BE DOING MY SURGERY...WELL HIM AND DR MANN...NOT SOME NEW DOCTOR I NEVER MET OR HEARD OF SO THAT IN OF ITSELF IS SCARY...ATLEAST I KNEW OFF DR C AND MR MANN..THEY WERE THE ONLY ONES THERE AND MENTIONED AT MY APRIL ORENTATION.SO I JUST ASSUMED..GUESS THATS WHAT I GET FOR ASSUMING...I AM SURE DR MCFEE IS A GREATDOC..BUT THE FACT THAT HE SAYS HE DOESNT LIKE DOING THE VSG AND ABSOLUTELY PREFER DOING RNY..HAS MY FEATURE ALITTLE TATTERED..I'D JUST RATHER HAVE DR MANN..SINCE I HAVE RESEARCHD HIM..I CANT EVEN FIND NO TESTIMONIALS ON DR MCFEE..DAMN AM I WRONG FOR BEING NERVOUS? SOUNDS LIKE I UPSET U A BIT...LOL

Can't speak to the Dr.'s, but my guess is you probably can't change, but you should ask to speak to Dr. Chastenet since he's the head. Also, the consent you sign, is what they have to do, or nothing at all other than life saving surgery, so as long as they don't list RNY on your consent, you SHOULD get the VSG. I'm still waiting for a call.........but plan on LapBand. Good luck, let me know how you make out.

Try and look at is like God is steering you where you need to be.  His hand is guiding you to the doctor and the procedure you should have done.  If He thought this surgery was not for you then he would have a lot of obsticles in your way.  I tried to have this done about 8 years before it actually happened and I was denied by insurance.  When I went around the second time I was approved in one day and I knew it was meant to be.  He has a plan for us and no matter what we do we can not change it.  I'll keep you in my prayers!

THATS TRUE TAM...I THOUGHT ME BLEEDING FOR 7 WEEKS WAS MY SIGN..IT FINALLY STOPPED NOW I HAVE TO RUSH AND TRY TO GET MY BLOOD COUNT BACK UP..BUT HOPEFULLY IT WILL MOVE ON UP SINCE ITS STOPPED AND I AM ON IRON PILLS 3X'S A DAY PLUS A MULTI VITMIN...YES PLEASE KEEP ME IN YOUR PRAYERS...
