Being nervous is expected but trust in the Lord and you will come thru wil flying colors.  Breathe and stay busy prepping for when you get home.  Start (if you haven't already) taking your vitamins and upping your protein.  Also, walk as much as you can.  It will help with healing.  Good luck and I will be praying for you!

I thought i was going to be really nervous prior to surgery, but i decided it was God's plan for me to get healthy, so i was actually very calm (shockingly so!).  I wish you the best of luck, we'll all save you some room on the loser's bench!  i'll keep you in my prayers as well, Lys

Being nervous is the most  natural thing in the world I was too as well as we all were but the morning of my surgery girl I was so ready I was like come on Dr lets get the ball rolling, my boyfriend was the basket case and I was ready to go! So hang in there and it will be ok, like already said breath and God will be w/ you and we are all here for you during your journey!

Hi MarisaIsabella,
It is only natural to feel the way you do.  I just want to let you know, that I too had diabetes and high blood pressure.  I have not had to take any medication or insulin since I left the hospital and my sugars and pressures are normal.  This was amazing to me and worth having the surgery.  Losing the weight is an extra bonus.  Good luck to you, I wish you the very best.

You have had some wonderful, inspiring responses on here from people who know first hand the health benefits that can result from the surgery.  I wanted to tell you that being nervous is perfectly normal...there aren't many who make this decision and go through the surgery without having some butterflies.  Know that you will be in our thoughts and prayers, and we are looking forward to having you join us on the "loser's bench!"  Let us know how you are doing once you are back home.  Take care.  :)

Hiya - it is very natural to be nervous - we all were!  I also was diabetic and was not any more since surgery! That was one of my reasons for doing it also.  I have never regretted it!

You will do great!  We are all here to help you so feel free to ask any questions or bounce anything off of us......... we have all been where you are - and we all remember what it feels like....  so don't feel alone... :-)
