New to VA and looking for a doctor

Hello everyone!
I had lap band surgery one year ago. My husband and I recently moved to the Arlington area and are looking for a wonderful surgeon to replace the one I had to leave behind in Oklahoma. I had the BEST surgeon and after care anyone could have asked for with WeightWise and Dr. Walton. I want to continue seeing a bariatric physician for continued care and am hoping that someone out there could give me a recommendation. I am looking for a clinic or hospital that has nutritional care, a physical trainer, and most importantly...a wonderful surgeon. I would appreciate the "who to steer clear of" referrals as well. Hope to hear from someone soon!

Hi Jacki! I am sorry that I am unable to help you with a surgeon referral as I in not in the Arlington area. I just wanted to say Hello, and welcome you to this awesome board. There are so many great people here that are full of advice and knowledge or to just lend a listening ear. I am sure someone here will be able to help you with your questions, though. Hi Jacki,

Welcome to VA. My surgeon is Dr. Moazzez, he works out of Fair Oaks Hospital and I have been very happy with him and the program he offers. They have a great Bariatric program at the hospital, including nutritional care and they offer an exercise program, plus monthly support groups. It's not too far from Arlington. Hi, Jacki: Welcome to the area. My husband is from Oklahoma -- you'll certainly find this area a change from there! :) Surgeons: Drs. Halmi and Tran are fantastic. They practice at Potomac Hospital AND Fair Oaks Hospital and have offices in Woodbridge (near Potomac Hospital) and in Vienna. Jack, I second what Cindy said - I had Dr Halmi and could not wish for a better bariatric surgeon - I owe so much to him......... and they have a great program and a great nutritionist as well as a great support group.....!
