No weight loss in 3 weeks
Hey everyone!!
Just wondering if I can get some suggestions on how to get the weight loss going again. I started at 220, I have been at 187 for the last 3 weeks no gain the scale just stays the same. I've been walking for 45 mins to an hour 4 times a week. I also do the wii fit and sometimes it tells me I've lost 1 pound or 2 pounds, then the next day it will say I've gained it back so I just go by my scale that i've been using since I've started this process. I sometimes feel like I can eat more than I should be able too. If anyone have any suggestions I would love the help. Thanks
Erica

Hey Erica. This happens to everyone, from what I have been told. I, myself, hit a little stop for about 4 weeks, only losing a lb or so and then in the last 4 weeks, I have lost over 30 lbs. The stopping won't last. Just remember that you are down 33 LBS in only 3 weeks. When else have you been able to do that? Good luck!
The body just stalls sometimes. No logic or reason to it.
It just sucks.
Two tricks I used:
1. Eat more. I know it runs opposite to what you think, but it could help. If you add a small meal you may add 200 to 300 calories to your day. Won't make you gain. May shock you into losing.
2. Change up the exercise. Can you ride a bike? Take an aerobics class? Doing something different shocks the body into dropping.
Don't sweat it though. At this point you are taking in so little food that you can't help but lose.

Hi, Erica: Stalls happen. Unfortunately. I have hit many over the last 10+ months. What I found is though the scale isn't moving, it seems to be that time when the inches do. Try measuring yourself, and doing it on a regular basis (i.e., every month or two), and keep track. You will be amazed. Aside from that, the suggestions Blair made have worked well too. Don't forget to keep up the fluids...they are so important. Water will make a big difference. Best of luck! :)
Erica,
This is completely normal. Your body had gone thru a huge adjustment and is saying "what is happening!". It needs time to catch up. You most likely are losing inches when you are not losing pounds. As the earlier advice has stated.....eat more (high protein foods) and change up your exercise. You may need to add weights to your ankles when you walk, change the route so you have more hills/inclines, etc. Walking/running is my staple. I do it daily, rain or shine. Just take it easy and remember to stay fuled with the proteins, hydrated with water and take those vitamins. Your body will catch up and the pounds will melt off.
Also of note...you are considered a "light weight" meaning you have a lot less to lose than some of us. I personally have lost 260 pounds and am happy where I am now. It takes different amounts of time for us to lose what we need/want to. Since you have less to lose than it may take longer to lose it. Just don't get discouraged! You are doing fantastic.

Thank you so much. It is something that really takes dedication. I have educated myself to the best of my ability and still learn new things. I am always here if you need me! You will get to your goal if you keep at it!

Life could not get any better than this!
Definitely a normal stage. Adding in a bit of extra food (protein) and changing up your exercise routine should help. Are you getting in enough water? I found early out if I was getting in the right amount of water (or extra) then my weight loss slowed. The inches are probably changing. Try not to get discouraged!
