Hi,
I'm origionally from the PA board but my sister is interested in lap band . She is going tomorrow to the seminar in Richmond. I was wondering if anyone has been there for surgery ? Who are the doctors I can't find out who she will be seeing but maybe tomorrow after she is done I will find out.

Hello. I know one of the doctors is Gregory Schroeder. I would recommend she consult with Commonwealth Surgeons (also at St. Mary's Hospital). Dr. Baustita does the lap band. I am not very familiar with the group there other than Dr. Schroeder. I used Dr. Hutcher from Commonwealth!

Hi! I uses the dr that Tammy is speaking of, Dr Bautista. While I didn't have the lap band, I actually had lap RNY and he was the BEST!!! It's kinda funny. Many research procedures before they choose a doctor. I did it the opposite way. I chose my dr and then WE both discussed my surgery options. I would never trust another man to cut me open. But so many of us say that about our own surgeons. But I have heard great things about Richmond Surgical as well. Good luck on finding all the information that you want and need.

I used Dr. Elliot from Richmond Surgical Group. He's the relative newcomer to the group. I LOVE him and think he and the staff do a fantastic job. Dr. Shroeder was actually recommended to me, I just happened to end up with Dr. E. Tell her to feel free to email me if she has any questions!

She may meet the folks from Comonwealth at the seminar as well. They used to combine their seminars. Richmond Surgical is highly respected in the weight loss community. I wish her well. Loris

She is a little afraid because of the anesthesia ( didn't do well when she had her knee done ) hopefully they will put her at ease.
