RNY date was 23 July; lost 20lb prior and 10 during the first 10 days post-op.  For the past 7 days I've lost 2 pounds.  I am strictly adhering to the diet plan, drinking fluids and walking for 30 minutes at 8:00 AM and 7:00 PM.  I expected much better loss with the RNY.  Any tips?

I have went through many stalls. I have been told the body goes in the stavation mood so that is why you are not losing. I seem to lose every 2 to 3 weeks or so. Don't worry though, it will come off just keep up what are doing. Also I found out if you lose weight before surgery you will lose weight a little slower since you have lost you water weight.

You are not in an official stall right now.  This is not a plateau, either.  This is your body stopping for a minute to catch up.  It has gone thru some major changes and needs time to take a breather and catch up.  Your weight loss will pick back up soon if you remember the formula....protein+vitamins+water+exercise=weight loss.  Good luck!

Thanks so much.  In my head I knew I had to be losing since I'm eating so little and yet I couldn't believe I could go so long without some scale motion!  ALl the best to you!

WOW! 2--3 weeks for a loss?  I am definitely encouraged, Gwen.  Thanks so much.  From my weigh****cher days I know the body can retain fluid and hold onto pounds but truly I expected better than this.  My husband keeps telling me I'm shrinking, no matter what the scales say!  All the best to you and thank again for taking the time to help out.

Welcome to the Virginia boards! This is a group of loving, honest and supportive folks. Glad you chose to be a part of our family.

Great advice was already given. I'd like to add one more thing. Take your measurements.
When the scale doesn't move like expected, the inches are coming off.

Jen, will do!  Thanks so much.  I'd have been lost without all the info I've found on this site!

Your body is probably in shock!  It's like "HEY!  What are you doing?"  I'm sure you will see that scale moving soon!  :)

Lauren, thanks.  I'm trying to be patient.  I wonder when I'll actually feel good again, though!  Trust all is well with you, too!
