I'm just over 5 1/2 years post-op having had Lap RNY Gastric Bypass and am a successful patient but have had some bumps in my journey. One such bump is addiction transfer (food to alcohol). I would like to ask if YOU would lend your stories and experiences to my blog I've created in hopes in bringing together a place where myself/other can thrive, grow, learn and support one another among others things in dealing with addiction transfer.

I hope to bring more attention and much needed support to addiction transfer (among other issues) and would be HONORED if you could share not only your story/experience(s) but any thoughts, ideas, suggestions etc you might have. Below is a link to my blog which has been truly inspired by my struggles and those of many, many folks struggles with this very real and very serious issue. There's HOPE and with determination and empowerment we can make a difference in one another's lives.

This is a new beginning just as the blog is and I hope we can make it grow into something absolutely amazing. Stay tuned for many more updates and exciting things to come! Please stop by and let me know what you think. I'd really love to hear from you!

I hope this message inspires you to reach out and ask for help and offer it up as well. Know that you are NOT alone and there are folks who support you and I and TOGETHER we WILL make a marked difference!

All best!

Kat,

When I read your post I actually thought of a similar name of a theory called, "The Butterfly Effect", and, while I don't necessarily subscribe to the theory, the concept behind it is a good metaphor (sp?) for what happens to a lot of WLS patients.  I'm at work so I can go into great detail of what the theory is, so check out the link I've provided.  Scroll down to the "Theory" portion of it to get a cliff notes version.  Anyway, that was exactly what I was thinking of when I read the title.  Good luck.

Thanks Keith! I'm familar with the "butterfly effect." I hadn't thought of it when I named my blog what I have. Interesting to think on.

All best!

Thanks Natalie! At this point, I'd like the opportunity to wrap my head around all of this. Being that its very new to and for me/others I'd like to really have the chance to solidify my plans with this before I have it posted elsewhere. Its trial and error, learning as I go. I do appreciate your offer to do so and in the future I'd like to keep you in mind once I'm a little more comfortable with it all.

All best!
