protein powders after surgery
After trying all sorts, the one(s) that I like the most are Unjury -- they can be found on www.unjury.com. Good luck in your search! :)
I have found that protein powders are such a personal taste - what one person likes another person will hate.. My advice would be to go to www.vitalady.com and buy some of the samples she sells pretty cheap and see if you find one or two that you like .......also be aware that tastes keep changing after surgey so what you like now you may not like in a couple of weeks....... so I would suggest not to buy too much at any one time.......

Sorry you're having a hard time with this, I did as well. I finally succumbed to drinking the whey liquid protein bullets (25/42grams), even though they weren't the best tasting thing because it was only a few ounces jam packed with the most protein. I found it best in homemade smoothies (love my magic bullet). Or I'd shoot half of it and chase it with juice, haha. The other thing that I did was make protein balls (with the powder), not sure when you can have peanut butter though.
I only drink the premade drinks now (unless I made protein balls). I prefer the EAS Carb Controlled & Atkin Brands. I like all the chocolate/mocha flavors. Not a big fan of the vanilla/strawberry flavors. They run between 4.99 - 6.99 for 4/6 depending on where you buy them.
I know if you go to some of the support groups out at Bon Secours, they do a sampling of many products from time to time, just ask Melodye or Jackie. I see Dr. Moore/Spencer. I love them!

I agree with everyone else...samples are the way to go! I love a variety of kinds. Unjury has an unflavored kind that I add to a lot of things. Any Whey is a good brand that I cook with. It is the only one that I know of that withstands the nutritional value when heated. I love the achieve one drinks. They are expensive, but delicious! I also make smoothies using various flavors and adding fruit and yogurt to them to shake things up some. I also do SF milkshakes and use the unjury unflavored and that does not change the taste. Also, I am not sure about the Vitamin Shoppe but I know that GNC takes things back even if opened. They have a 100% money back guarantee!

I loved the isopure in the bottles. I know they were a lil expensive but sometimes you can find some sales and they do last a good time because they are pretty big. Now Im finding that the adkins pre mixed shake box's work for me during the day.. Only one gram of sugar and I think 12 grams of sugar. But they are small so you can drink a cuple a day.
Trail and error...good luck!
