Greetings to one and all. Haven't posted in a while but have been working so that is my excuse. I'm finally able to eat some solids after 2 mos post-op but not all solids. It has been a trial and error period for for sure, but I'm doing better and feeling pretty good actually. I was really wondering if solids would ever be in my life again but guess I'm just slow getting there..Oh well!!! Hope everyone is having a great week and a fine day---hope to see ya'll soon..Jim

Slow and steady will win the solids race Jim! The first few months are trial and error as your body is still healing and such...after that you'll be amazed at what you can eat again! Have a great week/weekend!

Hey Christina, thanks and I'll be sure to keep it slow as some of it still doesn't want to stay down so I don't eat that anymore. Eggs have been good as well as red beans that are cooked extra long and soft as well as crisp bacon. Thanks again and I hope your day is good and you have a great weekend as well... Jim

Glad to hear it is getting better.  You may want tto check with your doc at your next appointment to see if the your stoma is constricted & too tight.

Thanks Nancy, and I know that but you can't help wondering some can you??? I do fall back on the mushes every once in a while simply because they are easier, but I'm thinking everyone may have done that or not...Have a great day and weekend...Jim

Glad to hear you are doing better, Jim.  I have missed you.  As Christina said, slow and steady wins the race!  Even at over three years post op it is still a trial and error period.  It always will be in my opinion.  Some thin gs settle nicely one day and not so good the next.  You will get there...just be patient.  Congrats on your success so far!

Hi Tammy, yes I am doing a lot better than when we first met at Jackies. I was in bad shape that day...and thank God you came to the rescue with a protein drink as it seemed to help a lot. I guess I wasn't aware that even at 3 yrs I would be experiencing this but thanks for the heads up and will keep everything in perspective so to speak. Thanks for the kudos too as I'm really excited about all this as I never had this kind of weight loss ever before..Have a great day and weekend as well...Jim

Jim,
Your weight loss is great!  I am so proud of you.  Remember..if something doesn't sit well today or tomorrow, don't put it out as a choice completely.  It may change weeks or months later.  I still go back to the mushies sonetimes.  Last night's dinner was Fage yogurt and blueberries.  I cooked chicken for the family but I couldn't even think about eating any myself.  I have days like that!  You are doing awesome.  Funny think about that drink I gave you...I had never tried one before yesterday and now I am hooked!!!!  I am searching to order some now...just trying to find the best price around.  So far I have 5 cases @ 134.95.  Still looking though!

Tammy
