No Energy.....
Lately (the past two days) I have had ZERO energy. I LOVE my new job and look forward to coming in each day but I have to make myself put one foot in front of the other and I sit here and am so tired. I feel like I could just close my eyes and go to sleep right here at my desk. Anyone else feel like that? The only thing I can think of and the only thing that is any different is I am not running right now. Could not doing that affect me THAT much??

Probably not the problem but a lack of protein will cause you to feel fatigued as well.
Don't forget we have 60% absorbtion rate since RNY (for those to whom that applies), so get 100 gms only gets you 60 gms worth of benefit, on average. That made a big difference for me when I factored that into my diet.

I have always found that when I did not exercise I lost my energy level . I actually get charges up by a good cardio work out . So this could be it .
How is your sleep patterns ? Or have you eaten something that could have affected your sugar levels ?
Just some things to look at . I hope you find your energy soon !

I am missing the exercise greatly. I broke a bone in my foot and was advised not to run. I tried the gazzelle and eleptical but it hurt a lot so I gave up for a few weeks to let myself heal. I am still doing weights for my arms and sit ups, but I am not sure what else I can/should do.
My sleep patterns have been like normal until Sunday night. For some reason I could not sleep. was waking up every 30-45 minutes. I slept really good last night.
I don't think I have eaten anything any differently than normal. I did have a small bite of Steve's desert last night (I wanted a bite of the pie crust, so I broke off a TINY piece) but other than that I have been a pretty good girl.

A few things spring to mind after reading your post. The first is we did spend a significant amount of time in the sun/water/nature on Sunday and I noticed I too felt a bit sluggish as well. Next is the significant difference I've noticed since having cut back on my walking due to neck/back aches my body was totally missing out and it showed me so. In addition, there are 2 other major culprits (at least for me) that I KNOW have been issues for me and those are B12 and Iron levels being too low. Two kinds of fatigue: mental and physical. With EITHER you WILL feel depleted. Lack of sleep, not eating your best, not keeping up with good amounts of exercise and getting in the proper amount of fluids will do this too. I believe NOT running CAN and IS affecting you THAT much. I'm not by any means a doc or nutritionist or trainer but speaking from personal experience I'm telling you what I've faced and what you are describing is what I've dealt with.
A couple things to check on:
Blood work/levels of things in your body
Eating/drinking (dehydration)/exercising habits (running we've established)
Sleeping habits (like you actually getting ENOUGH sleep)
Overheating as well

Good morning, beautiful. I have been thinking of these things, too and according to my blood work in early July, all was fine except the Vit D and I got a "booster" pill for once a month and doubled my daily dose, too. Spending time in the sun usually does NOT effect me in a negative way, but this may have been the start of something that I don't want. For some reason, the past week or so has been tough to get in my usual 120oz of fluids, but I am averaging 70oz at the minimum. Maybe my body is so used to the higher amounts it is telling me something. I don't think my getting enough sleep will ever be a factor...I NEVER get enough sleep. Sometimes I think Steve and I need a vacation just to sleep! I am monitoring everything and praying it will all be back to normal soon. I did go for a walk this am...could not resist. Hey...at least I did not run and I only did two miles instead of six! I will keep the levels and intensity down, but I have to do something...I can't stand sitting around. What will I do when I have plastice??? I will definately need lots of visits and phone calls to keep me busy!

Hi Tammy - exercise or lack of could certainly affect your energy level. Have you tried maybe upping your B12 or checking your iron levels?
I am banned from any exerise involving my legs for 4 weeks more until he sees me again and same with one arm, as he did a small skin graft on it - so I can't use my arms or legs for exercise - I am willing to consider any suggestions to just move my torso ;-)))

My last check several weeks ago showed Iron was fantastic and b-12 was really good. I was low in Vit D so we added a monthly booster and I doubled my daily intake as well. I am adding small amounts of exercise back in. How long do you have to remain exercise free after plastics...thighs (inner and outer) and LBL? Also, how long are you typically out of work for?

Usually you are out for 6 weeks of no exercising at a time before he wants to let you back into exercising - he wants to make sure you are really healed............
I had 3 weeks off of work for my LBL - I could have had longer and could have gone back sooner - and I had two weeks for my arms and breast lift - and I had only one week for my implants and one week for my inner thighs..........
Maybe you need an energy booster to help you feel the buzz lol!

I think I could do six weeks...as long as I have the support of my family and friends! It will be tough but knowing the results I think I can do it! I really want to get this done as soon as I can. For me, timing will depend on what insurance will cover and what I will have to pay out of pocket.
I will be looking more into it in September or October. Wish me luck!
