I am not sure what your doctor allows, but this is what I eat:

Fat Free Refried Beans, with 2% cheddar cheese and a dab of low fat sour cream.

Canneli (sp?) beans, speghetti sauce and a dab of presto. (watch the sauce.  I found one at Weagmens that is gluten free and has 7g of sugar per serving which is like 1/2 cup.  I only use a tablespoon so not getting 7g of sugar)

Canneli beans again with small amount of velveta cheese and a dab of skim milk

chicken is a can with mayo

tuna in a can with mayo

Talpia baked with seasoned pepper and lemon and herb seasoning.  Canned carrots in dash of margriene, seasoned with seasoned pepper and garlic and wine seasoning from the melting pot.

I do the same thing with mushrooms, but I fry them in olive oil and used the same seasoning as above.

lowfat cottage cheese. great protien.  11g!!

low fat yogurt with 5g of sugar or less.

low fat laughing cow cheese (babybell or the wedges)

If I do crackers, on a rare occasion, I use All Bran Whole Wheat crackers by Kellog. Great source of fiber.  A serving is like 18 crakcers. I only have 5.  they are small.

Hummus

Melissa gave you LOTS of good ideas.....I'd add peanut butter and applesauce....lived off these things (along with some of the things Melissa suggested) for a good amount of time during my mushy stage.

Oatmeal, grits, cream of wheat, scrambled eggs, egg salad, chicken salad, beans (pinto, navy, black eyed, etc).

I persoanlly found it easiest to just have what the rest of my family was having (lean meats & veggies) and just puree them.

I also did pureed cheeseburger (just couldn't get past the craving).  Take some lean ground beef (turkey or pork if you prefer), brown it up, add a slice of fat free cheese on top, and enjoy!

Hey Tonya. At your 2 week post op, Jeannine will give you the go ahead to move to the next stage. Then you will be able to have mashed potatoes, sugar free puddings, scrambled eggs, oatmeal, cereals, vegetable soups, chilis, cream soups. I am sure that there will be more, but thinking back to my 2 week appointment, those were some of the big deals for me. If you have any more questions please feel free to pm me.

Glad to see that you are doing wonderful! Isn't Dr Bautista wonderful and adorable? I just love that entire office!!! Again, if you have questions, please do not hesitate to ask!!

Hey Theresa Marie, I'm so tired of these shakes I can't wait until I can move on to the next stage. I'm going to send my husband to the store before my appointment on Friday to pick up a few things I think I may need, so the ideas you all have given me will help alot.

I adore the office staff, Dr. Bautista is a good surgeon, but Jeannine has always been in my corner ever since my days with the band, so I have a special soft spot for her. But all of them are great. I hope I don't bug you too much with questions. Thanks.

Oh heavens no Tonya. This type of support is exactly what we all need from each other. And the fact that we have the same doctor with the same practice is even better! So please don't ever hesitate to ask me questions but keep in mind that I am only 3 months out myself, so I won't have all the answers. For me, it is still, very much, a learning process.

The next stage of food will be divine. And it only lasts for 2 weeks and then you progress to the next stage. Keep up the great work hun and I'll be here to help any way I can!

Tonya,

It has been a LONG time since I've been on that stage so I don't really remember any good ideas.  I know the question is posted a lot on the recipe board and they have great ideas.  You may want to try there.

Hello Tonya

When I was at that stage, I lived off cottage cheese, applesauce, PB with mashed banannas.

My hubby made me chicken patte'. Put cooked chicken in a food processor and mayo, blend into a patte'...OMG! You can also do this with ham too.

Mashed potaoes where good as well. Scrambled eggs with cheese.

It sure is a journey, but so well worth it. Good luck.
