Something New

Oh Jill, I am sorry you have been going through this.  I can understand were you are coming from.  Even though I talk about the day my children will be grown an I will only be in my early 40s how life is going to be so much fun.  But in reality, that day scares the living crap out of me because everything I do in my life, I do for them.  My motto is, "Everything I do in my life, I do for them.  Afterall, they are only a reflection of who I am."  That I recognize can be very dangerous.  They need me.  But I need me and need to do things alss for myself.  Be a good role model, not only to my children, but to myself.

No advice on the dance.  Maybe you may want to watch my youngest daughter dance and he moves, boy is she full of life and dances for life.  You will do great!  I rememeber seeing you at Jill seminar with Ann.  You move effortlessly.  Congrats on your opurtunity.  I know I have been speaking with my studio.  After a couple years of belly dancing, I would love to instruct it.  They are game for the idea. And I agree you will be great!!

Since the age of 18, I have ALWAYS had kids with me, so this has been a tough adjustment.  One that has taken about 3 months to really put together.

But, things seem to happen to me for a reason...a reason that I can figure out (which is good) and going into class last night was like it was meant to be.

Good luck on the belly dance classes.  I tell you what - these classes are GREAT for the abs.  I have KILLER abs and I KNOW its because of the pole work and all of the pilates moves.  Plus..it's a great confidence builder.....

Enjoy it!!

Let mw know when you start - we can compare notes/moves.....

I have already told Kara she WILL NOT  be moving out when she turns 18!  I fully expect to support her 100% until she's a college grad...and maybe beyond just do I can keep her at home!

Conrats on the classes.  I may have to mosey on down that way next spring and see if I can take a one day class just to ckeck it out.  It sounds like so much fun and I know you will be perfect for it.  I am very proud of you!

Funny thing is that Patrick will be living at home while in college, but it's really different because he does not need me.  He has his own thing now.

I think it just really hit with everyone gone and the realization that John still has 8 years in the navy and several more deployments and things we planned to do togehter I am having to do on my own - like motorcycle riding trips - and it just really bums me out.

Funny...when the boys were young and John would leave, I missed him but had so much to do that there was no time to dwell on it.  Now....with no one home, I REALLY miss him.

Yes....let me get my groove going and come on down!

Steve's work is really slow right now...new construction homes...ugh!!!  So he is tossing around the idea of National Guard.  They have a "straight to active duty" program that pays a $40,000.00 siginging bonus and after training you go directly to active duty for four years and get combat pay for the entire four years.  I do not know what I would do without him home.  It would be the first time for both of us!  They also have a resigining bonus that if you sign up for two more years of state side with the possibility of deployment then you get $20,000.00 more at that time.  He has mentioned it several times, so I think he is serious about it.  Kara is at the age (13) where she wants to do a lot for herself, so I am feeling that, too.  I know she still needs me...if for nothing else than to wash her clothes, buy her clothes and cook her meals!  I am stressed about this, but determined to support whatever decision he makes.  Any advice???

Jill I am sorry you have been feeling depressed about being on your own but I also know you will work through it and come out stronger......

And as for the dance class ?? I am SO proud of you and so happy that they recognize talent when it is staring them right in the face! I know you will be awesome at it!!! I am now hoping we can also snaffle you for the Dance Fest we are doing in Nov as one of the presenters to do 20-30 mins instruction/teach us a dance. We will be having a belly dancing instructor, line dancing instructor, hula dancing instructor, ballroom dancing instructor and some others - that will be the first Saturday in NOV so please say yes and put it in your calendar!!

Oh my girlie...look at you!  You're bubbling over with delight.  I am very happy for you.  You've made huge progress in just a matter of days.  See what I mean about how powerful it is to be able to identify the problem.  Suddenly it doesn't have that strangle hold on you anymore.

About the teaching job...do this ONLY if it's what you truly want.  I think that it's wonderful & very considerate of the folks there to give you the opportunity to try it on for size first.  As long as it's what you want, but you won't really know until you try, right?  I support whatever you decide 100%!  I love you very much & am so proud!

Hugs!
Ann
