No straws, No Caffine, No Soda,

I'm tyring some of the Shakes so Far EAS Advantage is the best...any other suggestions?

Taking regular multivitamins

I'm still working on cutting out sugar completely

What else can I do to prepare myself for life after WLS???

You are doing great!  Just remember that you want to get a head start on living the lifestyle you will need to live after surgery.  Off the top of my head the only thing I would add is to up your protein intake and start a food log.  Make sure you are getting in a minimun of 80 oz of water daily.  This will help a lot with healing.

Sounds like you are doing great. You will appreciate the hard work you are putting in now after surgery. I like the Eas shakes too. One other suggestion is maybe try some of the protein bullets. They come in handy after surgery because they have alot of protein in small doses. GNC has Liquid Whey 42 grams of protein in only 3 ounces. I personally don't like them now, but immediately after surgery I drink 1/2, 2 times per day.

Best wishes and keep us posted, Penny

Be careful trying a lot of different types of protein now.  Your tastes usually change quite a bit post op!  I liked a lot of ones before surgery that I can't stand now and vice versa!
The protein bullets are good, but in my opinion, not the BEST type of protein for us to have.  I still use them when I travel and when going to amusement parks so that I know I have what I need,

WELCOME! So far you've got a lot of great ideas that your implementing. Any changes you can make NOW entering into this journey will certainly benefit you in the long run for sure. Great walking shoes, a continuous plan of exercise, getting in no less than 64 oz of "good" fluids (caffeine/sugar/soda free) and lots of arming yourself with knowledge will do wonders. Keep us posted on your surgery date and journey as it unfolds.

All best!

You are making great efforts now & they will be so helpful to you when you have surgery.  The only other suggestion I have is to starting trying to eat slower & really chew your foods.  Keep us posted on your journey.

You are doing a great job!!  People say thier taste buds change after surgery.  Mine has not.  But as far as protien, my favorite is Nectar by Syntax.  Vitalady.com has samples on there for you to try them out without buying a $38 can.  Syntax make protien isolates, which is suppose to be the easiest for us to absorb post op.  At least that is what research says.  Another good one is Isopure RTD.  They are in bottle and about 40g per bottle.  Very good.  and Very expensive.  It is also an isolate.  Both types taste very fruity to me.

Sounds like you are off to a great start.  Just remember to follow the guidelines your surgeons sets for your as to how much protein, water, vitamins, etc. that you need and should have.  :)

Hello,

It sounds like we are in the same boat! LOL.  I am waiting on a surgery date now but I've started cutting things out slowly now like sodas, straws, etc.   I have also started walking 15 min a day for now and then I plan to increase it every 2 weeks.

Please share any good tips you get with me!
