Surgery tomorrow!!!!
YEA!! After almost a year my number and date have finally come up! I have to say the worst part of the bowel prep was drinking that horrid stuff. It gave me such a tummy ache. I have not really been starving although my inards are a growling! We have a dog that wants to smell your breath to see what you have been eating and I have teased my girls and said several times "can I just smell your breath!" I am to be at Portsmouth Naval Hospital (PNH) at 5 AM so that means I'm going to be first! I was so happy when she said that because the sooner I get in the sooner I can get out! I'm going to take my before measurements and photos later today and pack my bag later tonight. I'm sure I won't get any sleep tonight. My oldest will be 16 on the 20th and she has nad a lot of anxiety about this surgery. A very beloved secretary at her high school died from a blood clot after surgery and she had been up and moving. Everyone loved her and it has been a hard past year for her at school. All she keeps saying is "I just keep thinking about Mrs. OXOX" Any and all prayers, good vibes, positive thougths, and kind words will be greatly appreciated!!!

Tomorrow will be the start to an entirely new life. You are being given a second chance with this new tool. Use it to the absolute best of your ability. Your daughter will soon see how this miracle will be allowing her mother to live her life as she should. Stay strong, think positive and tomorrow, you will be one of us... a LOSER!! We will make room on the losers bench for you! Good luck and prayers for you!
I remember the day before surgery. My family was more worried than I was. Just remind them of all the reasons you want to have the surgery. I am sure all will be fine. We will be thinking of you. Good luck and let us know how it all goes.

Try to focus on positive thoughts as there are danges with every surgery but it dos not mean you are going to have any isues. Reassure your daughter that this will be the best thing you have ever done for yourself and your family....
Good luck and let us know how you are as soon as you can get on line!

SherylLynn, That is to funny about your dog! That is how my chiuahua is. I will sit down with my protien drink and she will come sit on my lap and then smell my breath, it is a fight for the drink that point on.
I can understand the fears, ecspecially when someone you know passes from a complication. However, that complication is a complication of any surgery. You Surgeon should give you blood thinners. I had a blod clot after a car accdient when I was 15 in the leg I broke. I think you are doing great and keep the lines of communications open with your children. You will be in my prayers. Let us know how you are doing when you the chance.
Seriously, though you're going to be great! I didn't even have time to be nervous - I got up, got going, and then all of a sudden it was over and I was like, "Umm...seriously? Did I just do this?!?" But, at least for those few hours, we have the easy part. We get to be knocked out! Get your daughter involved by making her your walking "coach", so that she knows she's helping you get better ASAP. It's natural to be nervous, but I think that both of you are going to be so much happier.
You'll be so great - I'll be sending lots of prayers your way! (Ok, maybe not at 5 a.m., but when I get up... )
