Long stall and getting frustrated

Hey everybody!  I am at a stall...for almost a month now and it is very frustrating!  I have lost 125 pounds and want to lose 25 more.  I am wearing size 14s and very proud and thankful for what I have accomplished. I go to the gym 5 x week and if I am not in the gym then I am walking at home!  I have been back and forth with the same 4 pounds for an entire month.  I know that I have to keep on plugging and doing the right thing and that eventually it will come off but it is very hard.  I journal my food and exercise every single day and do all the "basics"  Any suggestions?

I know how frustrating this has to be. I just shook loose of my own stall. Well, since I am not a Dr, you should take my advice with a grain of salt (as I know you do ). Maybe you should try to eat a little more. Sometimes the old metabolism needs a little shock. Nothing major, just maybe a serving of cottage cheese or something else in the evenings. See if that moves it. Also, when are you doing your protein? I try to make sure I do them really close to post exercise. I think it helps the body recover after a vigorious work-out. Other than that I got nothing....

I had weight loss surgery. I did it the easy way.

Hi, Nancy:  I am in the same shoes you are -- mine has been since I hit about the 125 lbs. weight loss mark, too.  I went a few weeks with nothing, then BLAM -- lost like 10 lbs, then nothing for three weeks, then the day before yesterday, 2 lbs. off...nothing today.  I seem to float up and down about a pound during the stalls -- it is incredibly frustrating.  Like you, I am working out 5x a week, I am journaling every single day, plan my menus, get everything in that I am supposed to, even tweeked protein intake (nut suggested i try it) because of the workouts....and here I sit.  I just need to drop another 28 lbs. to reach my personal goal...so close...yet....  It's funny, it seems someone tells me almost daily lately how much more weight I must be losing (not!) ... so, maybe we are really losing the inches in spite of our scales!  Anyhow, just wanted to let you know, I feel your pain.  Hang in there!  :)

I also have been at a loss of 125 for a couple weeks. I haven't been walking as much lately, but I have been digging up old fences and put in new ones in the back yard. Like Cindy, people at work tell me I look like I am still losing. But of all the things I have lost, I miss my mind the most.  :-) Joe

HAHAHA -- isn't that the truth, Joe?  It seems mine slips away more and more each day...  :)

Shake it up baby!!!  Change what you are eating, your exercise and your protein amounts. I did what they call caloric cycling....for instance 1000 cals one day 1200 the next, 900 then back to 1000  (or whatever your daily intake is) Then I upped the protein. I drank  shake in the AM, after vigorus exercise and  before bed.

I have lost 100 lbs and have maintained for 4 months now. My doc is very happy with that as I am at his goal. Mine had another 7 lbs to go but I am happy and feel great.

You got some great advice there.  Check with your nut to make sure you are getting in enough calories with the amount of workout you do & if need be add in some more.  Also shaking it up seems to work for a lot of people.  Change all your routines, eating, workout etc.  Hope you break through soon.

Agreed with these folks! All good advice. Its tough when things aren't going where we'd like them to. Changing up your eating and exercise really helps. Get in fluids and protein and make sure you are changing exercising every month or so. Our bodies get bored!

Wishing you the best & keep us posted!

Nothing much more to offer other that the great advice that's been offered...but wanted to let ya know I am right there with you! I have been on a stall for a few months now, and although I have only 10 pounds left to lose it is very frustrating. I realized, though that I needed to shake it up and squash some bad habits that had crept back in, as well as get back on track with exerice (I had fallen off the wagon due to frustration with not being able to run). I am hoping that soon the scale gets moving again..it is very hard to see it not move after months of seeing it move daily!
