Dr. Appt update....

Since I have not been able to drink since yesterday afternoon I got a bottle of water on my way to the Drs.  Well I took two sips and was in horrible pain.  So it is still at it. Well, I talked with wonderful Dr. Halmi.  I explained the progression from Monday to today.  He said that since i am still healing and my stomach is very sensitive, most likely what is happening is because I have been vomitting I have irrated the lining of my stomach.  He either said it is ulcer like or small ulcer.  He gave me two choices.  I could be admitted for 24-48 hours to receive IV fluids or he could give me medicne to coat my stomach and zofrain and for me to go on strict liquids.  I choose the latter but asked him if it was not working could I then choose the hospital.  He said that is fine.  So he gave me some cafate, zofarin, and my prevacid sublingeil.  He does not want me to take vitiamins today and give my stomach a rest.  He wants me to have diluted gatarode as well.  So I will see how it goes today and hopefully this will do the trick. Thank you to everyone!!  I appreciate the support you are giving me.

Melissa glad you went to the doctors and at least you have a idea of what is going on. Hope that you do better and keep us posted.

Hey girl! I am so sorry that you are having a horrible time lately. But I am very proud of you that you were your on health advocate and didn't just assume that it was nothing. Thank goodness you went to the dr after the ER trip yesterday. I swear I think some of those ER docs only believe in the motto "treat em & street em".

Do as the dr says and get plenty of rest and maybe you won't have to choose option #1. Please keep us posted and if you need anything, let me know!

Melissa, I hope the meds given will help you. Ulcers are NO fun. Please listen to your body and if you are not noticing a difference please get back in to see your doc. Just stating an opinion here but please be careful with the Gatorade. The sugar in it is not great for us. I realize you'll be diluting it but please be careful. Hugs.....

THank you Kat.  He speciffically said the gtarode for the sugar.  He did stress a LITTLE.  But I was very dizzy and he said it is from my blood sugar was dropping very low.  He said the sugar in the gatorade will help with that.  But again he did stress LITTLE gatarode.

Hi Melissa, Betty and I are so sorry to hear you are having all these problems. Betty said she hopes it isn't an ulcer as she has had those and they aren't no fun. I think it is good that you can sit down and talk to your Dr as I don't have that luxury with mine. We both hope that this option will work for you. Let me know if you need anything...JIm & Betty
