HAHA - I hear ya on that!   ok....so I've started preparing for the 1/2.  I went out and bought a cute pair of pink shorts and a pink top.  Think that will help me out - hahahahaha. Seriously - I was thinking of going down to start running on the course - to get the feel for it.  if you want to join me, just let me know so we can coordinate it.  My plan is to go over on Sundays (that's my long run day),  with Patrick in tow on the bike to carry my water bottle and power bar (HA!  Despite what he thinks!!!!!).  I'm not much for early morning runs, but will consider an 800 start time. My goal is to run my current distance and then, of course, improve each week.  There is a really good article in next month's Runner's World on a beginner who properly trained for the 1/2 in 10 weeks (which is about where we are now).  Check it out.  Some of the tips are good.

I am in what I think is a perma stall. I am floating between 225 and 222. Can't seem to shake it and am not really sure I will. I am a big boy (as I am sure you remember). I don't see my frame getting much smaller than it is. I have just sort of stopped worrying about it. The bulldog in me was worried for a while, but to hell with it. So I am 2 lbs. over...who cares. I am eating well and exercising and am fine. If you want to run something seriously let me know. My wife has been itching to walk a 5k, so we could all come up and she could keep you company. Was pleased on my last run becuase I beat Trae Nause by 9 minutes in the one I ran. Do you remember Lance Berbet's older brother Rodney? I doubt he was at the MBK when you were, but I assume you remember Lance from band. Rodney ran the last race I did and only beat me by 3 minutes...and he was still a good looking stud....

I know how ya feel about stalling...I just can't seem to get below 145 and I really think, like you said in an earlier post, that is where my body wants to be and is doing all it can to let me know that! I am doing the same thing you are...just not worrying about it and following my plan. I fall into the "normal" BMI range by just a hair, so i will take it! I would love to run/walk something with you and your family! I will look around and see what's coming up and we'll make it happen. I spoke with a trainer yesterday because I am having such pain in my knees when I run, so she suggested I focus on strengthening my legs, visiting the doctor to make sure nothing medical is going on, and work back up to it. She said because of drastic, fast weight loss my body is still in shock and has not yet successfully dealt with all of the physical changes, and after years of abusing my knees with my weight there are bound to be some changes that could be helped with strength training. So, I am doing fast walking, spinning, yoga and signed up for some killer strength training classes at the Y. I was in a real funk because back in high school I could outrun everyone on the soccer team and could run miles and miles effortlessly; now I just feel like my legs don't want to do anything!

Ha! Trae Nause! I had such a crush on him in 9th grade! But he liked Mary Poland so I didn't have a chance! Haven't seen him since early 90s. I do remeber Rodney and Lance...Lance was always fit and a big soccer player. Rod graduated just before I got to the MBK..I also remember their sister Megan really well.
