Update on Cameron

Your neighbors child is just like Cameron. Since he received his first set when he was 7 months old and has a set in his ears ever since then, he also heard muffling talk. That is how he learned to speak as well since that was all he heard. He started going to speech therapy at 3 yrs old because I didn't want him to end up learning to spell things they way the heard them, distorted. He was in speech for 4 yrs and will be re-evaluated in September when he starts 3rd grade.

Good for you that you were well ahead - my neuighbours kept going for second opinion after second opinion because she likes to check everything a million times - I often worry about how anything happens at their house -  so they delayed things and delayed things and now he has a slight loss of hearing too...... you were very vigilant and got him help right away! I tried to do the same for Connor.  He is my only child and he is very precious to me! I think Cameron sounded really good to me when he spoke at my house! He is lucky to have you for a Mom! Jackie

Poor guy....I hate it when kids are sick...there is really nothing you can do for them. My son dealt with the whole tubes thing, and I swear as soon as I took him off of cow's milk it no longer became a problem.  Not saying to do this, but maybe do some research in this area if you haven't already.

Thanks for replying Jill. Cow's milk? Wow, really? Sad thing is really that Cameron doesn't drink alot of milk, maybe 1 or 2 glasses a week, but only if you add chocolate syrup to it. Unless he's in school, then he drinks it for lunch. I had thought that the removal of his tonsils and adnoids would do the trick but not really. But when I speak to the ENT today, I am going to demand that they figure things out. He can't keep going through this. But thanks for the well wishes!

Hey Kat! I got the text message you sent, regarding dinner plans but I honestly don't think I received it until late Thursday or early Friday. Friday was a blur too. Having to deal with him being so sick and hurting and having to figure out about the truck, after I ran over the wood, (yeah go me). I am now just waiting for the ENT's office to call back to let me know what we are going to have to do. But honestly, I am a bit overwhelmed so I think I am going to head out for a morning walk, maybe a little power walk and get rid of some of this stress.
