A couple of weeks ago I put out an invitation to ya'll to come to my home on July 5th for a day of fun in the sun. Planned activities: egg races, 3-legged race, watermellon eating contes****er balloon fight, horseshoes, face painting, wading pool, basketball shooting contest, killer Uno, just to name a few. Oh & one MAJOR requirement...you must bring some sort of water dispensing device, i.e., squirt gun, super soaker. If any of you would like to attend, please PM me your cell # & regular email address so that I can send you the e-vite. You can RSVP through the e-vite & there's a map & more information. Deadline is July 1st, so don't be left out! This has all the makings for a fun, relaxing get-together.
Some items I could use some help in acquiring:
** Tables...I have a couple, but could probably use a couple more...the folding kind.
** Do bring your lawn chairs.
** A couple of extra coolers...I only have one & that will probably be with Mike in
Gettysburg
.
** Clothes for the clothing exchange (any clothes that don't get taken we can donate to Salvation Army)
I have chafing dishes & plenty of serving bowls & serving spoons, so no need for that stuff. I also have a gas grill.
Tenative Menu:
Please choose from the list below & let me know which item you can volunteer to bring...enough for 20 people. First come, first choice. I'll let ya'll know who got to what first. I want this to be a wallet-friendly event for all! Items with a * next to it are up for grabs.
-- I will supply hot dogs for the kids so don't add this to your list, unless you don't want your kid to have hotdogs.
-- my world-famous tater salad
-- baked beans (I already have them!)
* I ask that you bring whatever meat you'd like to throw on the grill, enough for your own group
* coleslaw
* veggie tray
* fruit tray
* cheese & crackers tray
* tortilla chips & salsa
Suggestions from my weightloss friends for a sugar-free dessert would be nice. I'm going to see if I can find a sugar-free cake recipe. Besides my wl friends, we also have several diabetics attending so I want to make sure that we ALL get to enjoy a tasty dessert without complications to those with limitations.
Drinks:
I will have plenty of bottled water & unsweet ice tea, both regular & green. If you would like an alcohol beverage please bring with you, but remember to have a designated driver. If your preference is soda, please bring enough for your group as well.
Don't forget sunscreen, towels, & your camera. We can do a photo exchange later on. And don't forget your water-dispensing device...most important!! If any of you have further suggestions, please email me.
Big hugs to all!!
Ann
