Maintain your motivation.

What sparks your inner fire and drives you to act? One of the hardest things to maintain after weight loss surgery is motivation. A honeymoon period keeps many WLS patients on track for the first six months to two years, but eventually almost everyone loses their momentum--at least sometimes.

One tool you can have at the ready is knowing what motivates you. Something empowered you to take control of your health. Look along that path for clues.

Action for the day: In your journal, list the times in your life when you felt empowered and took brave action. Look for clues about what motivated you in those moments. How can you use this knowledge about yourself to stay on a healthy path now?
