my new found confidence....
Long story, i'll try to summarize. my daughter (age 12), went to swim camp at UVA (3 hours away). She called every night and told me about this coach her called her out and yelled at her in front of everyone (she tripped and fell into someone else in line) - he went on to yell at her and tell her how rude she is, and how rude her parents must be to raise such a rude child...blah, blah, blah. WELL, i went pick her up today (with another mom), still being a "big" girl i really did not feel like confronting a 25 yr old punk. but...i went up and I said I am S's mom, you know, the RUDE one! I guess the last 2 years of her winning the christian citizenship award at school was just a fluke hmmm? he started to stammer some lame-%$(*$ answer back, i cut him off and said i just may work at a preschool, but even i know you NEVER talk to child like that, especially in front of her peers, he apologized to me, and I said my daughter is the one who you should be apologizing to, he started to come with me as to apologize to her, and i said, NO, SHE DOES NOT WISH TO SPEAK TO YOU, and i kept on walking (i know, how RUDE).
Anyway, thanks for reading all this, i have to get it off my chest, but 75 lbs ago, i could have NEVER done this, (thinking just another crazy fat lady). I think i made my daughter proud for standing up to her. thanks for listening.

Way to go Mom! Wonderful thing you did there. And I am sure that your daughter was way proud before this but now it is icing on the cake!
