Quick check-in
Oh, I just HAVE to stop these breaks from the Boards - I miss everyone too much and can't stand to think what I'm missing!! I have been busy these last couple of weeks, with things that are fun... and things that are a pain. I have gained a few pounds and I hate the way it feels, so am working hard at getting things back the way they work best for me. I have never been in a position where a few pounds would make a difference in how I felt or in how my clothes fit me - this is a new and unsettling experience.
I continue to work on expanding relationships in my life - when you spent a lifetime with mostly your own company or that of a few others only, it's hard to venture out there and "develop" a social life. But I keep trying and usually it's not a disaster.
I am also VERY MUCH looking forward to the day at Jackie's on Saturday and seeing many of you! It's going to be a wonderful event.
Okay, I am getting ready to go to the Lewis Ginter gardens in a short while. They are having a preview of their Rose Garden and I have invited a friend in my neighborhood (see?? And she actually agreed to go!) so we are going to head there, hope the heat doesn't bake us too much, then have a nice supper. I'm looking forward to it. Will check in later!

Regain over next 3.5 years to a high of: 166 lbs
Current weight: 135.8 lbs and heading back to 130 lbs!!
I love rose gardens. My mom had a large one when I was growing up. :) It reminds me of being young. If they weren't so expensive and hard to take care of I would start one myself. Is that something that Lewis Ginter has ongoing for a week or so? Or was it just one day? I would love to try and go see it. :)

Mary, you are certainly missed around here! I really enjoyed the one time I got to hang out with you at Books-A-Million. I'm looking forward to seeing you on Saturday!
Btw, I totally feel your pain about how hard it is to develop a social life - I live alone so it's incredibly easy to retreat into my own little world. It's a constant battle for me. Good for you for inviting your neighbor out - I'm sure she was thrilled to be invited!
