Yeaaaaaaaaaaaah! You RAWK Jill! I have HAD it myself with excuses and so what ever's selling Kat ain't buying! I am SO miffed with a couple people right now (myself too) because I caught them RED HANDED making excuses and when I knocked down ALL of them it was like "well *stomp feet and pout cause your busted* I've had things to do" or "I felt depressed" or "I'm sorry" UMMMMMM that's LIFE! Its not always beautiful but each day is a new day. I LOVE that I push myself (most of the time) but I can ALWAYS do more. I make excuses from time to time but I'm quicker to realize now. Still this gives me much to think about because I see some things in myself lately that aren't right. THANKS! Hugs to you.....

Glad you enjoyed the post. Like you, I've about had it with the excuses (including mine).  I mean, at some point you become numb to them.  They become draining and just no fun. I'm tired of having the same discussions over and over again (with the same people) and hearing the same garbage.  Know what I mean? Tell me the truth and do what you say you are going to do....PERIOD!  Stop making excuses. My new boss started all of this....he points out his shortcomings and then makes LOTS of excuses for them.  UGH!  It's exhausting to sit in a meeting for 30 minutes and listen to 3 mistakes that he made (which HE points out) and then the excuses as to why they did not get done.  UGH!

Yep I know EXACTLY what you mean! I have to say I've been biting my lip, tongue, mouth, towels ...LMAO!!! (shudders to think *I* bite my lip AND tongue) Seriously I've had it as well. I have really gone out on a limb for a few folks (one VERY close) and its frankly a slap in the face when others ACT like they want the help and then their actions are opposite. I thought long and hard of whether or not they were just needing more support or different support or just tough love in a new direction but that's not the case. You CANNOT help someone who WONT help themselves. UGH! I have to say there is the "Kat" who is busting at the seams to throw my hands up and say FINE YOU'RE ON YOUR OWN but I don't know how NOT to be the "fixer", "peacemaker" etc. So, right now BOO HOO WHINE HISS THROW LARGE OBEJECTS!!! That's my statement and I'm sticking to it! (LOL I'm seriously goofy but sincere today!)

Oh my lord you have been hiding in my cupboards??................ did you hear some of my pathetic excuses for not exercising much this week?? Some are legit but most are not....... I have my heart rate montior but my body bugg is not working the way I want it to - of course I saw a newer version of this and now I want it!!!!!!!!!! So that was my excuse for not pushing myself like I should. It looks like my thigh surgery may be scheduled for the 16th July and I will know for sure on Tuesday 1st.... wish me luck! Jackie

As a matter of fact...I HAVE been hiding in your cupboards - haha! So...it's July 16th, huh?  RIGHT ON!  MUCH better than what was thought.  I saw him last week and we are looking at mid - Nov (right before Thanksgiving).  More me than him.

I struggle with this one all the time.  For me it's not just diet and exercise excuses, probably the biggest is why I'm a complete reject when it comes to keeping house.  I'm the master of the excuse when it comes to that.  Sigh....  It's something I really want to change.  But my lack of motivation defeats me every time.  I liked Theresa's post and agree with you both that I do much better when i set myself to a schedule, and for me it has to be rigid.  If I leave too much time to "float" I will more than abuse it.  On the positive front, we are staying home July 4th weekend and I will have four days to get off my rumpas and actually DO something and I'm hoping I can stay motivated to get some major overhaul cleaning and decluttering.  We'll see...

I hear ya!  I can come up with an excuse for almost anything.  But, doing the schedule thing helps me too.  For example, this weekend, I will be planning all of my July workouts.  If it's on the calendar...I have to do it.  And daily I do a to-do list.  This helps, but I can still come up with an excuse if I really want to.
