Daily Inspiration - Eating anything you want, whenever you want, is not freedom.
Eating anything you want, whenever you want, is not freedom.
Eating with free abandon is not freedom for people who struggle with compulsive eating. Grazing all day means you have no structure to your eating. And unstructured eating can quickly lead to eating unhealthy foods in unhealthy portions.
Ironically, when you add some structure to your eating by making a food plan for the day, an amazing sense of freedom can set in. Why? Because food isn't our friend or our comforter--it's our demon. When we set boundaries for our food, it may be difficult for a time, but eventually that demon will have no choice but to retreat.
Action for the day: Make a food plan today. Write it down and refer to it often. Give yourself the gift of one day of freedom from overeating.
