I have not passed gas.  i have came close but nothing has come out.  I have had a BM the past 3 days.  I have not had one today yet, but I have had one a day since Thursday.  Should I be worried?  Call the surgeons office tomorrow?

I would not be concerned. Gas disspates in different ways. I am a  year post op but don't have a BM daily. Ususally every 2-3 days.

Hey, Melissa:  Are you walking/moving around?  That really helps to get the gas moving too...give it a try if you aren't already.  If you are concerned about it, give Dr. Halmi's office a call and see what they say.  It took me a little while to get rid of it, but don't hesitate to call them if you are worried about it.  :)

It depends what your bowel movements were previously but you are not eating as much as before in any case...... I take stool softners when I have surgery as constipation is something I really suffer from and added fiber does not help me....... But if you are concerned please do call the office as they are there to help you in any way they can - it is better than worrying like this... Jackie

It is not the BM's i am concearned about.  I am used to going 2-3 times a day and I know this is going to cause chaging in my BM.  So having one a day i am pleased.  It is more the passing of the gas.  I am belching like crazy.  But the other end nothing.  I feel the movement of the gas but it just wants to stay.  I am moving.  Today I felt great.  My church had a service/picnic at the park.  I decided I wanted to go with the family.  So I walked around there and watched the kids play games.  Left when I had enough and came home to take a good nap.  When I got up we went to Target and my youngest daughter went shopping with her bday money.  As far as water, I think I am getting plenty of that.  I am drinking all day.  However, I am wondering if I am getting enough food.  I am on full liquids, so my day will look like this: Breakfast: 2 oz of cream of wheat sweetend with splenda or 3 oz of low fat (5g sugar) yogurt Lunch: SF Pudding or SF Jello (I want eat it all either) Dinner: 4 oz of creamed type soup. I am getting all my vitamins and my protien in.  I have profect 50g bullets.  I take half before I have lunch and half before dinner.  I am not on the 30/30 rule yet.  And wont be until I start mushes.  The main goal based on NUT and Surgeon requirments is to get 64 oz of full liquids.  But am I getting calorie intake I need? i don't feel like eating and only eat when my body tells me it is time.

It is very early days for you Melissa so of course you will not have enough of a food intake yet. You can only do the best you can right now as it is only a few dayssince surgery. Over time you will take more food in.... you don't need to worry about your calorie intake right now but if you are unsure please call Brittany at the doctor's office and she will be able to go over what you are eating and tell you... Congrats on your up and coming surgery!!  I ordered a 24 pack.  I wanted the 50g  mixed flavor pack but they were sold out.  I got the passion fruit.  To be truthfully honest, I am not thrilled with it at all.  I have no problem with protien and like the stuff.  But this taste like very thick heavy syrup.  I push through it though.  Because only about 1.5oz is a serving and that is like  2 1/2 gulps for me.  That twice a day and I have met my 50g of protien suplementation for the day.  It is nasty but worth it in my eyes.
