Before I got on Medicare, I had Medicaid, but through Carenet, the Medicaid product of Southern Health. They required a 6 month supervised diet, so I am speculating that it is based on the individual HMO company through Medicaid. But Medicare & Medicaid are similiar in most of their requests. It's all a bit confusing!

I have Medallion, whatever that is. Thats what I was told. Virginia Medicaid Medallion. Dont know if that makes any difference. Everytime I call they tell me "we cant tell you anything. Your surgeon submits everything to our Medical department and they determine if you are approved or not. Each case is different." So when I asked if there was a number I could call to speak to someone, they said no. That all communication goes between the surgeon and Medicaid, and to ask the surgeon. *sigh* Thats why I'm trying to find out what different criteria Medicaid has. I'm in SouthWest Virginia. Near the Virginia/Tennessee border.
