4th of July gathering

Well based on the great response, I guess I better start a sign-up list, huh?  All those interested in coming to my place in MIddletown, VA, on Saturday July 5th, please send me a PM.  I will send you directions.  All are welcome including spouses & kids.  I'd like to have an old fashioned get-together...egg races, 3-legged race, sack race, watermellon eating contes****er balloon fight, horseshoes, face painting, wading pool, basketball shooting contest.  Unless I can find old sacks or one of you can get your hands on some, we might have to scrap that one.  Please bring lawn chairs & some sort of water dispensing device such as super soaker, squirt gun, bucket, etc.  And Jill, if you can come out, you can do your "thing" on the flag pole!!! woo hoo!!!!  I'm soooo excited.  So come on ya'll....PM me!!  Let's get this party planned!!!!

  I am already booked that day.  A good friend of mine is moving & I told her two weeks ago I would be there to help.  Okay I am really bummed.  Maybe I need to host some kind of gathering, that way I know I could make it work.  I will have to think on this.

Ok, as soon as I get a good head count, I'm going to enlist Kat's help in putting together a menu that will be both wls & non-wls friendly, & then I will make available a sign-up sheet for ya'll to choose from.  My goal is to make this as wallet-friendly for everybody as possible.  Plus, in past party experiences, I usually wind up with a ton of left-overs that nobody takes home with them...lol.  I think a good date for a cut-off for attendance would be July 1st...would ya'll agree?  Jackie, I'm gonna use your event as inspiration & give me some menu ideas.  When ya'll PM me, would you please include your cell ph # & regular email address?  I have a neat e-invite that will help me track who's attending & how many in each person's group that I can send out.  It also includes a map to my house, though it's very easy to get here.

So like, WHERE is Middletown?  My guess would be the middle of the state somewhere, given the name, but this IS VA, and we have odd names all over the place. I am spozed to be in Raleigh that day for a picnic, but depending on where you are ...

Well darlin, that is why I ASKED!  I didn't know!  Now, if my Raleigh plans fall through, I will keep this in mind.
