Good am, How are ya'll doing? Wonderful I hope. How was your weekend? Ours was pretty interesting to say the least. Friday was a LONG day with visiting mom and one of my best friends who had her baby girl. Had the buggas with me initially but they got real animated so I called their dad and asked him to come and get them. Visited with my friend and her hubs & the baby and got a surprise visit from a friend I've not talked to in a bit. I love babies and holding that lil' gal in my arms made my day! A bit later mom gets released after her ordeal and thankfully she's actually taking a proactive stand with things. We went over eating, drinking, what good food portions look like, working towards 1800 cal per day (which lets be serious mom THOUGHT she was eating at least that and for 2 days has fought to reach it - its NOT as easy as many think). So, I'm once again going to be optimistic about this for and with her. Got in grocery shopping, errands, pool time and had some friends over for some nice chats. Both Sat & Sun we ended up with 5 kids in the pool and a yard full of toys and I loved every second of it. That is until Sun afternoon when I went to grab the buggas bathings suits off the clothesline and I got stung not once but a few times and I'm EXTREMELY allergic (and hard headed did ya'll know that??) and I feel the first then next then not even a few minutes later here we go ...tightness in the throat, some hives, breaking out in a sweat, everyone is freaking and the best part? We're OUT of Benadryl! Uh huh yep! I then start worrying. So, Rachel my neighbor has some and I get 2 down and start feeling worse, Becky (sis) is telling my to get to the ER (no stop fussing not a big deal) as my leg/foot is swelling and hurting like all get out. Dad goes to get more Benadryl and I'm sitting down in the zebo trying to remain calm. FINALLY after about 10 minutes I start easing up with everything except the massive swelling in my leg/foot. Needless to say Benadryl kicks my butt into Sleep Fairy/Groggy Fairy land and I ended up getting in 4 doses and the swelling is down but not all the way so we'll see. I am on standby to visit the doc's office should things not continually better this am. Throat is bothering me and cannot put a lot of pressure on the foot. So prayers if ya'll would. What's on the books for your Monday? Not much for me getting a little work done, spending time with the buggas and recooping from these dang stings. Hugs to ya'll....

Wow, girl, you have been busy! Take care of yourself today - please don't hesitate to go to the doctor if you aren't getting better!!!!! That's why we have doctors

My weekend was nice and relaxing, thanks to that crazy last week of school finally being over! I went to the new American Family gym - WOAH. that place is ENORMOUS - and had a Game Night with my Sunday School class, which I love. Yesterday some friends from Charlottesville came and I unloaded all of my kindergarten stuff on them since I don't need it anymore ()

So today, after I take my car to the body shop to get it repaired from my little "accident", it's back into my classroom to finish packing it up. I've hated having this hanging over my head all weekend and can't WAIT to get it done. It will be weird saying good-bye to kindergarten forever, though - I've been a K teacher for over 7 years now. But I'm super excited about it, too.

I better get going so I can get that room DONE!

Have a great one -

Hey beautiful!!!  Put some ice on that foot would ya.  My weekend was long & busy also.  Ended up working late again on Friday (something odd must be going on around here), Satruday was soccer, Father's day shopping, off to dinner at my sis-in-law's, Sunday was a trip to my daddy's for some time with him & then home for some time with my family, actually ended up helping the girls clean & rearrange their room.  Now it is Monday, back at work, and have a busy week ahead of me.  Hope you are feeling better.  Love you much!!!!

Hey, Kat:  Wow!  The weekend you've had!  So glad to hear that things seem to be on the mend...be careful with it, and get to the doctor's if you need to!  Nothing to mess around with.  Me...the weekend was spent at a resort with my hubby for a get-away, badly needed.  We listened to Jazz music on Friday night outside at the resort, then had dinner, came back out to listen to more.  Saturday was golf, lunch at the clubhouse, massages (to die for!), wonderful dinner, and yesterday we were back for Father's Day.  Overall, a great time!  Hope your day goes well, and things get better!  Stay away from those flying things!

That sounds like a nasty reaction Kat - hope you are better today!! If not please go and see a doctor as it sounds like Benadryl is not strong enough.... We had a busy weekend too  -  On Friday evening it was Connor's school picnic so we went there and it was a fun evening - Connor had a great time playing on the rides and swings etc and he was so tired as we drove home lol!! We chose to celebrate Father's Day on Saturday as we knew Sunday we had a lot of yardwork to do.... so what we did was went to Ridemakers where you can build your own cars and Connor and Bill built themselves monster trucks - boys will be boys of course and they had a lot of fun with it. We did not let Connor have a remote control with his because he always loses them or breaks them - we told him he could have one when he is 5 - on his birthday - so we will be going back there in October to help him build yet another monster truck! Then we dropped Connor off at his grandmas so we could go and get dogfood - and lo and behold there was a resuce organizaton there doing adoptions and we also got a ginger (orange) 8 week old kitten. He is so cute and we called him Sneakers - in the end- as he has white paws. Sunday we went back to the shelter at the Petstore to get another one of his brothers - Bill then decided we should have got two kittens - I wanted to at the time but did not think that idea would fly  - another pure ginger kitten as we thought they would have so much fun together - but they did not bring the kittens back on Sunday so we adopted the one we wanted anyway and will be collecting him next Saturday. So now we have 4 cats and two dogs!  Connor adores the kitten and follows him everywhere.... we were going to go out for a Father's Day dinner but my neighbor offered to take Connor to the pool and we did not have the heart to refuse him as we were cutting the grass etc so we just grilled instead..... and they also took Connor to an icecream parlour so of course he wasn't hungry.... I won't be around much this week as I am going on classes from Tuesday afternoon - then the Mall Walk from Obesity on the Capital (anyone else going?) Tuesday evening and back to the hotel and then stuff from 7am the next morning......and in classes all day until late Friday evening when it all wraps up around 9pm - then home again..... I will have my pc with me but not sure how much time I will get to spend on it in the evenings as I have a full schedule! Hope you all have a wonderful week!! Jackie

Ok, hang on while I put on my EMT hat.  Ok, it's screwed on nice & tight.  Ummm, now that the excitement is over, let me tell you just how close to death you actually were.  Multiple bee stings for a person with known allergic reaction is DEADLY!!!  So is nuking yourself with too much Benadryl.  DO GO SEE YOUR PCP IMMEDIATELY!  And if he doesn't offer it, you ask him about prescribing an EPI PEN for you.  Anaphylactic shock is nothing to play around with, Katherine!!  Not only have I treated a ton of patients with this problem, but I am highly allergic too but I can't have EPI because of my heart.  So, should you get stung again, first have someone call 9-1-1, next use your EPI pen or tell someone where it is so they can administer it for you.  I am not kidding about this Kat.  And any of you that are reading this...this is nothing to screw around with.  I swear, between you & your Mom...I'm thinking I'm gonna have to come down there & start kicking some butts!!!! I almost forgot to tell about my weekend.  On Saturday we got blasted with 3 storm cells so our plans of yardwork went by the wayside.  We opted to veg in front of the boob tube watching old movies together.  We had the day & night to ourselves since Matt & Nino were off to a paintball tournament.  On Sunday, our youngest son, Chris, joined us for the day.  While he & Mike visited, I decided to get my food shopping done.  I fixed a quickie dinner & soon after the other two boys returned home.  We presented Mike with his Father's Day gifts along with a practical joke that he still doesn't know has happened.  Last week I came across all the Father's Day cards we'd given him last year.  Well, he got them again this year...and he didn't realize it!!!  So I've put them away to try them out again next year.  My poor sweetie...the things he SHOULD remember, he doesn't, & the things he should just let slide he doesn't.  Anway, today was quite productive.  I ran some errands before yet another storm blew through.  I got some things to surprise ya'll with at the bbq...that's all I'm telling.  So now dinner is over & I'm relaxing in front of my computer, writing to ya'll.  I love you all so much.

Hugs!
Ann

Hi Kit Kat...you did have a busy weekend!!! Sorry about the sting...hopfully the swelling will go down soon!!    Friday was quiet with breakfast with friends...asn appointment and home for chores,  etc. On Saturday went to a going away party for a co-worker. Later, my church had a dinner and a movie night. We saw Secondhand Lions. What a great flick with Robert Duvall and Michael Caine.      Yesterday one of my clients mom passed away. She was 87, but the client and his mom were very close. Wednesday is the funeral.      Time has come for me to pursue a new career as burnout is approaching. Actively pursuing a position at UVA Medical Center, a doctor/friend has called human resources to give them a heads up about my qualifications. Prayers needed, please!!! Have a great Tuesday!!!  Cindy
