A setback

Ok let me start by saying I know it is all my fault.  I got the Munchies last night, i am 10 days out, and ate accordingly.  A few pringles some saltines.  Drank with both.  Now this morning my tummy is hurting.  I got so upset about it, I had an anxiety attack.  Now needless to say I am M e l l o w thanks to my old friend Ativan.  What I want to know is, do you think I really hurt myself, ie popped a staple, or if the pain starts getting better, am I ok.  I know I should check with my surgeon.  But you folks are my sounding board and I truly value your opinions.  I have the sleeve.  Have any of you had a moment of weakness like I did.  Thanks Lisa

Good am Lisa, We have ALL been there. EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US! But, you should be learning a very important lessons that NEITHER of those things is good for you at this point or truthfully at all moving forward. Pringles are not a good choice what so ever. Saltines (for me) are not a good choice either. Drinking with both of them is even worse. You are loading your tummy so full and with things it really cannot handle that I'm certain its why you are hurting. I don't believe you've popped a stitch or hurt yourself badly (YET) but if you continue this behavior you most certainly will. I live with never knowing when my panic attacks will strike so I know about that. You know why yours happened and what triggered it and that in itself tells me you know better and sometimes we all need the kick in rear to remind ourselves of the journey we've undertaken. Of course you should check with your surgeon if things persist and even consider talking with someone about your feelings as well. I hope this helps ya. Keep us posted! All best!

You know my moments of weakness havent been frequent but my largest problem still to this day is eating slow enough and not drinking too soon after... It's a learning process and it's going to take time to ERASE what we have taught ourselves all our lives... Learning to eat slowly, learning to have enough hydration in your body ahead of time so your not so thirsty when you are eating, and learning how to realize food is for nutrition and not for enjoyment... We are all on our way and we have all had those days and Im sure will continue to have those days form time to time...just hang in there... Brandi~

I am not to familiar with the sleeve so I can't really give you an opinion, but if it is still hurting tomorrow call the dr.  We all have those days of weakness & eat what we know we isn't good for us.  Try thinking of a good, healthy, snack for those munchie attacks.  Hope you feel better soon.

I am feeling better now, the pain meds worked and I am going with liquids to settle my stomach today.  Thank you for all the honest opinions, and yes I do need a kick in the pants when I do things like this.  So thank you Kat for that gentle kick in the pants.  The pringles didnt even taste good.  I stayed up too late and got the munchies, next time I will just go up to bed instead of to the kitchen.  You all have a wonderful Fathers day!  Lisa

Hi Lisa, Like everyone said you probably did not damage yourself BUT you did fill your pouch too much and it has shown you that it did not like it! So today is a new day, you can turn the corner and not repeat it because you know how much it has pained you. And hopefully you will not want to do anything like it again lol!! Jackie
