Good Morning, Virginians...... Another day, and another 100 degress - YIKES!!!!! Make sure you cool and drink plenty of fluids.  It's going to be another scorcher out there.  And if you go out....wear sunscreen! So, whata re YOU doing to move today??? Me?  I am SO excited....I am taking a spin class.  I missed out on the last one, but I am a go for tonight.  I'm excited, because it's something that I've wanted to try and it's new for me....which means CHALLENGING!!!!! Enjoy your day....until tomorrow.... Stay safe....stay hydrated...stay moving!

Hi Jill, I'm kinda new around here but I walk in 15 minute spurts several times a day....."Have Pedometer Will Travel". 2,098 steps so far this morning.  Gina

Nuttin' today.  Icing my knee from a tumble in BodyVIVE last night.  Not liking the pain and inability to take anti-inflammatories!   I WILL be back in the gym tomorrow. After your spin class you may need my ice pack for your butt!  Hope you enjoy the class. CeCexercises teaches spin classes and she has an admirable backside and awesome calves! I wish, wish, wish I could get into spinning...maybe someday.

Hey, Cleo, welcome back! Glad you got to golf on your trip! As soon as this weather breaks we'll have to get the bikes out again! Thanks for the compliments on my calves and backside! I was teaching Spinning even right before WLS and my calves were the only body part that got compliments back then! I'll get you in a Spinning class sooner or later!!! CeCe

Jill, Spinning will help you develop even more endurance for running too. I've been a Spinning instructor for years and I had many runners tell me that their running speed and endurance improved after they had been taking Spinning classes for a while. Just make sure you get there early and have the instructor set you up properly on the bike. Improper set up can aggravate or create knee issues. Also, your butt may be bruised from that tiny seat! Maybe they have gel seats! Have fun! It's a great work out and the time flies by! The music and the group makes the class seem less painful!  CeCe

That's what I've heard, and I think that my running stinks right now because I'm bored with it.  So, I'm really hoping that this brings me out of my rut.  I started kickboxing again, and that's really helped out alot.

I've also come off of the poles a bit.  As much as I love the poles, I'm getting bored with it, too.  And when bored, I tend to get sloppy. So, I'm looking at some alternatives to change things up.

Thanks for the tip on the bruised rear....I'll keep that in mind......

Jill, Make sure you wear your heart rate monitor during Spinning too. The heart rate can really spike or sometimes you might not be working as hard as you need to be so the heart rate monitor is a cyclist's best friend! Also, if you're going back to kickboxing, same advice, especially if it's cardio kickbox. Since our bodies get used to the same old routines, switching workouts every so often fools them! Good job! Yep...that's why I've back off of the running and ellipticle a bit and started back with the kcikboxing....time to "confuse" the body again.  Plus, it helps me avoid boredom.

I enjoyed the class and am looking at taking it more often over at the Naval Base since I'm getting ready to transfer to over there.

When are your spin classes?  Maybe I can catch one on this side of the water before I transfer next week......
