Update on me
Well it is day 5 out of surgery and I feel amazingly well. I tried something new today, Wasa Crispbread multigrain with some chicken salad. I was told on the sleeve board that this type of cracker/bread mushes up great, and it did. I just chewed the dickens out of it, it was delicious, and I loved the crunch. My tummy seemed to like it, I waited with every tiny bite to see if it was going to protest, but nope it liked it. I bought myself a Magic Bullet today, and I have already used it to make my chicken salad, after my food settles I am going to make me a propel slush, mmmm. I have some pain in the morning getting out of bed, but my walking helps and I am getting plenty of protein and water. If I knew I would feel this good just 5 days out, I would have done it years ago! I love my sleeve. I hope this finds you all doing well and keeping fit! Take care, Lisa
At 5 days out, you are allowed to have crackers? WOW! I'm amazed. I had to stick with liquids, yogurt and stuff like that. No chicken for 10 days. You're lucky!
Glad to hear that you are doing well.......

Sounds like you are doing well. I wasn't allowed such food at 10 days out and my food was blended until it tasted like dog food lol!! The Magic Bullets are great - I still have mine! And still use it for slushes etc...
Your pain will ease with every passing day!
You are doing great! Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the vote of confidence, I would have never thought of trying the crispbread if I had not seen it on the mush diet of another sleeve poster on that message board. The two procedures are similar, but I am finding that the sleeve has some advantages to not being quite as sensitive as the RNY. There is a little bit of leeway as to what can be tolerated. Trust me, I am one with my tummy and wait a few seconds with each bite of anything I eat. The pain I felt after drinking too much water at once was enough for me to realize it is nothing to play at. I have been tolerating the mush stage very well, although I am very careful to chew chew chew. The Chicken salad, was nothing but chicken pureed with a little mayo. I am getting alot of badly needed info on the sleeve site, as I had no prior knowledge as to how you treat it. I assumed it was the same as the RNY but it isn't the same, close but not the same. I only hope I can drop the weight as fast as you all do with the RNY. I notice some folks on the other message board, don't lose as fast. Ah, well, what will be will be. I am blessed to have had this surgery and am going to do everything I can to take advantage of this tool I have been given to improve my life. Take care everybody, hugs Lisa
