Need Idea's

I am getting really bored with the things I am eating.  I am in stage 3 foods, which is very liberal compared to some.  I can have chicken, canned tuna, eggs, cottage cheese, turkey, ricotta cheese, canned veggies and fruits.  The problem is I am getting bored with eggs, chicken and cottage cheese!  I would welcome any and all ideas on what else to eat.  I still can only eat about 1/2 of a scrambled egg and I rarely eat any fruits/vegs because I have no room in pouchie.   Its getting to where I don't want to eat because it's boring!  I have not lost any weight in over a week also.  Should I plateau this early out?  Help!

What about shrimp, crab meat or canned salmon? With your ricotta cheese, add a bit of splenda,  a chopped strawberry or grated lemon zest and enjoy.  That might jazz that up for you..... How about adding some chopped spinach to your eggs or some cheese sauce? I also add a bit of cinnamon (or pumpkin pie spice or apple pie spice) and splenda to my cottage cheese. As far as a plateu, how much weight have you lost?  The body may just need to catch up a bit - don't worry.  It will work it's way through it.

Thanks so much for the idea's Jill.  I will be sure to get some shrimp next trip to the commisary.  Also the cinnamon in cottage cheese, yeah baby!  That will work also as I am getting tired of plain cottage cheese. I did pick up some sugar free or no sugar added Kozy Shack rice pudding and it went down great and hhmm what a treat that was.  It has no more sugar than yogurt and good protein.  Oh by the way, all the yogurts I look at are loaded with sugars, what kind do you buy? Congrats also on your PERSONAL TRAINER accomplishment.  Thats's so awesome!  I would love to be a client of yours.  If you do any work up on the peninsula let me know  :) Thanks again for the idea's I really appreciate it.

Susan - Great progress with weight loss!  Many people experience a little stall at 3 weeks.  It should pass quickly and you'll be making steady downward progress again soon. Sorry can't help much with jazzing up your menus.  Pre-op I needed variety, but now with limited intake and max protein, food is just fuel - er, except for that stray "goodie". that I allow for!  For yogurt, try Kroger Brand Carb Master - about 4g sugar carbs and 11 or 12 g protein in 6 oz.  I also hear Blue Bunny Carb Freedom yogurt is good but haven't found it. Greek yogurt (Fage or Oikos) has good protein content and is yummy with splenda and fruit - tastes like whipped cream dessert. Enjoy the new you! Cleo

Wendy's Chili Peeled bake potato (or just the innars) with cheddar or Wendy's chili (no butter, no sour cream)  Chef Boyardee meat Raviloi Baked Sweet potato or yam mac and cheese scallops deviled crab Being too bored to eat so why bother is a good thing and part of the mental retraining of:  why am I eating to start with?  Am I really hungry or bored??  If eating bores you and you are not hungry,..do something else.  Just make sure you are getting your protein and water daily requirements in and your vitamins to keep your health and energy levels up. Rock on Dudette!!!

What about creamy SF peanut butter, refriend beans w/cheese, SF applesauce, smoothies made with protein powder and fruit? Time to be creative!

Good am Susan, You've gotten some great ideas in response to your post. I wanted to add a few more. -Cooked, tender veggies such as carrots, string beans, spinach, broccoli, and cauliflower *** these last 2 are NOT my friends but some folks can eat them and make SURE they are florets ONLY) -Mashed taters -97% fat free deli meat -Pintos and cheese -Fat free yogurt (I get mine with fruit in it) -SF pops (still eat these often) -Chili (I like a small Wendy's chili & I make mine homemade - 1 bag of Morning Start meat, 1 can or corn, I packet of chili powder, I can on beans (be careful of the skins initially) 1 tablespoon of Old Bay and I put these in the crockpot and let it simmer ALL day YUM) Hope these help as well! All best!
