Hi, Jim:  So glad to hear you are home and on the mend.  As suggested by others, when you are up to it, walk around a little, that will help with the gas.  I wouldn't worry about the weight either...they fill you with so much at the hospital, it just takes a little time.  Congrats on the surgery...and welcome to the loser's bench!  :)

Hi Jim.  I just wanted to give you a big welcome home ((((((((((hug))))))))) and a warm welcome to the loser's bench.   I second all of the advice the other gals have given you.  You are going to do just fine.   Keep us posted.

Good morning Jim and glad to see you posting. Good luck this morning and you will find that you are losing and remember to sip, sip, sip and walk, walk, walk. That will help with the gas and the soreness. You sound like you are doing pretty good.

2nd  update--sorry for not getting on before but we lost power for 4 days and finally got it back yesterday about 10 AM just in time for the heat wave we are having, Thank God for sending the power co. around otherwise I would have roasted in this house for sure. Abig tree in my front yard came down as well, sort of missed the house burt some of it hit and some of it took the power lines down pulled the electrical box off the side of the house and part of the tree landed on my truck and dented the roof a little bit. Other than that things are pretty normal around here, the pain is getting less and less ea day and I'm trying to do some walking as well albeit I'm not up to 30 min as Julie suggested. I'll get there eventually. Thanks so very much for all of you sendings hugs and prayers. I really do appreciate all of youall's comments and concerns. It certainly makes you feel that you are not alone out here. After this kind of surgery I think it would be really easy to become depressed and I don't want that. I still haven't lost much as I'm still kind of bloated I think although I haven't stepped on a scale yet. Maybe I will in the AM and see what it says. Still on the jello, yogurt and cream of wheat kind of diet and may try some blended greens and stuff (whatever stuff is) next week and see how that goes. Go to see my primary Dr in the AM and have to tell him that I have fluid on my lower legs to see what they are going to do about that. I know it ain't good...Going to try and make the local support mtn out in Chantilly tomorrow and maybe meet some new folks there as well as some of the ones I know already. After I get rid of all of the emails that have built up 300 or so I'll come bac****il then ladies, know that I love you one and all and many huggies to all of you and God bless you...Jim
