CPAP update...
It has been a week since I have had the machine. Good News...I am keeping the mask on now. bad news, I am taking the hose off now. LOL GEEZ. What am I going to do with myself. I thought at first it may have been me moving around, but it is not. I am in the same position I was in when I went to sleep. Go figure. I will get the hang of it soon.
LOLOLOL! I shared this one with my husband as i'm such a sexy snorkel wife with my cpap on every night nad he shares in my experience - we got a good giggle out of it. :)
He told me to tell you:
Good news - I have a new cpap machine
Bad news - I keep putting the mask on my husband at night.
HAR HAR
Hopefully another week and you will be used to it. It takes time. I was SOOOOooooooo happy to get another appt with the doctor so fast (this wednesday) for a followup appt. I've been fighting my cpap for the last three months with interrupted sleep patterns becuase the setting is no longer good for me. I'm hoping he will have availability for a sleep study soon. I had to change doctors AGAIN because of insurance changing and had to start from scratch after waiting nearly two months now for the appt and sleep study. ARGH. I can't wait for Wednesday to come. :)

I think it is haliours myself. What is really funny is it is not the hose that slide onto the end of the mask, but the part the clips into mask and is secured on the mask. Dang, can't a girl win? I wonder if I should call the Tech that brought the machine out to me and talk with him about it. He said to call me if I had any questions.
Laruen, to funny about putting it on your husband. i haven't tried that one yet. Good luck with your appointment. I am sorry you are having such a rough time getting in there.

How about this for having trouble with the mask. I have two actually. One that goes over the nose only, and the other rests at the bottom of the nostrils. The first feels like it's pushing my upper teeth into my head. One night, I actually ripped the soft rubber seal off the mask. I've heard so many people tell me how the CPAP will give me a great sleep, but I've yet to feel "rested". I moved a week after my band surgery, and my new surgeon (whom I go to for follow-ups and a fill) asks "What has the sleep study done for you?" And I tell him "Nothing", and he replies "Exactly". SO, as he points out, the apnea will only get better with weight loss. The problem, as always, is getting the weight off. So far, no progress (3-months post surgery) after the "honeymoon". Talk about going crazy.
Keep with the CPAP, and try a different mask style if you can. I find the over-the-nose mask most comfortable when the hose goes over my head, and not off to the side. See what happens.
